View Full Version : Thanks Everybody
Trish Marie 05-18-2005, 08:20 PM Thank you to the American Dreams board, to all of you guys for the fun, and thanks for the huge effort made to save our favorite show.
Most of all thank you to the cast and crew of American Dreams for giving ol' Trish the best television viewing that I have had in years and years and years.
Every person on that show will live in my heart forever, and ever.
Now, I will cry for a short time, move on and work on buying the DVD's so that I will be able to visit my friends whenever I want.

Dreamsluvver 05-19-2005, 04:51 AM Trish, I agree with all you said. American Dreams is truly my favorite ;) program of all time. I will always love the people/characters :) and all they stand for and they will live in my heart forever, as well.
I don't think any future program is ever going to be able to live up to this treasure :(
As soon as I heard the line in the theme song "we just want to dance all night, live inside the spark of life" and saw Meg dancing across the screen, I was enthralled and knew that my dreams and feelings of nostalgia and love for all that the program represents had found a home. Does this make sense?? I imagine it does to the rest of you who love the show, I hope so!!
We are truly lucky and blessed to have had the 3 wonderful, magical and irreplaceable years that we did, but we will all always be left wanting much, much more.....
Ah well, that is, unfortunately , the way the cookie crumbles!!  :(

Yes it makes sense, Jilly.
That made me cry.
Thank you for putting it so beautifully.

Trish Marie 05-19-2005, 06:39 PM Dang, I just realized I'm cryin a lot over this show.
I cried in joy, sorrow and everything in-between while watching the show, and now I am cryin all over the place because it has been cancelled.
*slaps self*
Snap out of it, Trish!
That's better.
Yikes.
Dreamsluvver 05-20-2005, 11:51 PM Yes it makes sense, Jilly.
That made me cry.
Thank you for putting it so beautifully.

You're welcome , Trish and thanks!!! I have been crying about it, too. I really wanted to put my feelings into words, but I knew it'd be hard. The way I felt as the theme song began with each new chapter of our "American Dreams" was really excited, happy, expectant and joyful. I could know, for certain , that the next hour was going to be really wonderful and take me on a very special journey and I'd love every second of it. Like you, I laughed, cried, I mean bawled at times, like with the whole JJ/Viet Nam story line and I had so many different emotions while watching the show. I could really relate to what Helen was going through, since it could have been my son doing the same thing!!
This is all so sad, it just ain't fair, now is it???
Jilly :^>

nicole_adluver4 05-22-2005, 06:14 PM I felt the same way about the theme song whenever I was watching a show I taped. For some reason, I just couldn't get myself to fast forward through it. Just the magic of the whole show I guess.
Maine AD Fan 05-23-2005, 08:18 PM Hello All:
I'm a late-comer to this site, but watched every episode of AD and couldn't agree more with the comments in this thread. I'm still in shock that they cancelled American Dreams - the absolute best show on TV - what a time machine - total magic in every hour. Great writing and acting, and music that always fits the plot. I hope some of the cast read our comments! It won't bring back the show but would make us feel better.
Trish Marie 05-25-2005, 03:38 AM Yep. I have the American Dreams theme song on my computer. I play it all the time. I also have Another American Folk Song.
Oh man. The memories.
GOTTA have those DVDs someday.
Trish
P.S. I sure do miss Jack Sr. Missing Luke too.
