View Full Version : Kevin Reilly Acknowledged Us
Great8 05-17-2005, 04:45 PM Small consolation, but at least he knew we were out there:
He called the cancellation of "American Dreams" after three seasons "one of the more frustrating experiences, especially with the passionate audience that was there that we certainly heard from. ... It just was not pulling the ratings to justify the cost of the show."

New AD fan 05-17-2005, 04:51 PM He destroyed the best show on television in 10 years, but heym he said some real nice things about the fans.
I hope NBC's ratings go into the toilet next year and Reilly gets fired.
BeatElBando 05-17-2005, 05:48 PM I fully believe that Nbc's "NEW " schedule for next season, will be an even BIGGER looser than this years ! Mark my words ! They WOULD have been ALOT better staying with American Dreams for another season, and by really really promoting the heck outta it.......it could have beaten ANYTHING that NBC will be trying to tout now !!!!! Nbc will regret the decision to drop AD soon enough . jUST WATCH !!! I Too HOPE nbc falls flat on their face now ! No sympathy from me anymore . :D
Brent88 05-17-2005, 05:59 PM He destroyed the show??? Are you kidding???
I would have given up on this show and it would never have seen this last season. The ratings were terrible and didn't justify this past season.
If they hadn't moved it to Wednesdays, you would have never seen the last 4 episodes. Really, it's time to move on.
Shows get cancelled every year, and they all fans, you have to accept it. It's not NBC's fauly.

I think the third season was outstanding. This show had at least another 3 years of good programming ahead of it, maybe 4 or 5. No show should be on the air forever (ahem! cough! Dick Wolf, Matt Groening...), but NBC made a grave error in judgement. An error that will become all too evident to them once they have a look at next year's ratings.
I will not "get over it".
BeatElBando 05-17-2005, 07:35 PM I'm NOT gonna "Get over it " either my friend ! Sure...........The show was NOT a ratings bonanza . So what ? It was still drawing in a "respectable " weekly audience . NOT great..............But respectablel ! I am now only hopeing, that another network will somehow "Pickup " AD for a fresh start ! And .....I still hope NBC rots in Hell for cancelling this show ! Evil Dweebs !!!! :p
Biiiiattrixxx 05-17-2005, 08:56 PM I agree with you BeatElBando! But not so sure about other network picking the show...since someone already said somwhere ...''now that the show is cancelled on NBC so is the actors contratct with the show is gone.''..and with so many actors doing pilots,if these pilots are pick up-just like Gail O' Grady's and /or some actors not wanting to return? can you imagine the series without JJ and Beth,or Helen or any other main character?
--although we would't have to say goodbye to the show... :( and we wouldn't have to stick with that crappy ending...
BeatElBando 05-17-2005, 09:17 PM Another network could realistically "Pickup " American Dreams minus some of the cast members ! It could always be "reworked " , to just follow some of the characters that would be willing to return . There are but a couple of actors from the series i think, that WILL go on to other projects . It could be "finetuned " , and reworked somewhat [as in downsized if needed] . But i would rather see the show picked up with everything intact . BUT...........At this point...........anything to keep AD on the air, will be fine with me ! :)
ADrules 05-17-2005, 09:57 PM Helen is already on a new show, I think its on nbc.
AD FAN 05-17-2005, 10:56 PM Small consolation, but at least he knew we were out there:

I say this to NBC for canceling AD :mooner: and to CBS for canceling Joan of Arcadia :mooner:
rusyd 05-18-2005, 09:34 PM Besides ER,there is nothing for me to watch on NBC anymore. AD was the one show I truly enjoyed and watched faithfully. I will miss it and yes, I will get over it, but right now I'm steamed and I can't help but blame NBC for not keeping it on. Alot of shows started slow in the past and became classics. ie-Mary Tyler Moore, Dick Van Dyke,Desinging Woman, etc. Oh well I'm done bitching! ;)
