Hello all,

A friend of mine that I work with told me yesterday that she read an article about how the actresses from Desperate Housewives do not get along, and the article cited other examples of shows that had feuding actors, one of them named The Golden Girls. She said that stars Betty White and Bea Arthur were said to have been feuding in the later seasons. Has anyone heard about this? Is any of this true? I'm curious.

I remember an article that Bea Arthur did for TV Guide that told of how she enjoyed doing Maude immensely, but that The Golden Girls had its share of friction. She even said it wasn't exactly like Laverne & Shirley, an allusion the leading 2 actresses who feuded incessantly, but that it had its moments.

Anyone know anything about this?

I ahve heard that during the six season bea said she wanted out and betty got real upset because she felt they could still go on and become popular for a long time unfortunatly bea was only signed on till the 7th season and she was gonna leave so betty was real upset because they were going to end the show and she didn't want it to end and thats why they had golden palace. Im not sure if thats true but thats what i was told

I don't think that is true. The one rumor that I've heard is that there were some hurt feelings when Bea left and that she and Betty didn't really get along for several years after that. However, they have made a couple of appearances together in the last few months so hopefully that has been put behind them.
