Can anybody tell me the episode title where Major Nelson runs for governor and promises construction of a freeway? Three are some people on a newsgroup I'd like to discuss it with.

It's #104- Jeannie, The Governor's Wife

Could you post the responses you get from that newsgroup here? I would love to see other people's thoughts on this one, too. Such as, why does no one seem to notice that a freeway just appeared out of nowhere (with traffic already in progress - what did all those drivers think of being teleported from wherever?) stays there for less than a minute, and then disappears just as completely. Does anyone associate its appearance and disappearance with the blonde in the car with Tony? Especially since she can be plainly seen folding her arms, nodding her head and blinking just before the appearance and disappearance of this "instant" freeway. So, is _that_ the kind of thing y'all are discussing? http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif

If a person only saw this episode of I Dream of Jeannie, he would have an idea about what the series was all about.

Major Nelson was the Master, but Jeannie was the one who was really in charge. Tony was not interested in running for Governor, but Jeannie had other ideas and blinked up an entire campaign. Jeannie ended the run for Governor when the future machine showed Tony marrying someone other than Jeannie. Presumably, he would only marrry this other woman if he became Governor.

Has anyone ever thought about how Jeannie would allow him to marry someone else if he became governor? She was no where to be found in this wedding scene. It is not surprising that she would not come to his wedding, but where would she have gone?

Don't tell me you don't know?

Jeannie would never let Major Nelson got out with another girl let only marry one. So in order for Major Nelson to marry this girl he tricked Jeannie back into her bottle

In this episode you also saw that Jeannie and Major Nelson Nelson do have a thing for each other. Well everyone knows how Jeannie feels about the Major

You are absolutely right that Jeannie never would have let Tony date another woman let alone marry one. But somehow I do not think Major Nelson would have been so cruel as to keep her trapped in her bottle for an extended period of time. As you pointed out, he demonstrates that he has feelings for her at the end of this episode.

Perhaps Governor Nelson said something to Jeannie that hurt her so much that she went away. Like she did in Guess Who's Going To Be Bride? Part One. Remember she told him, "Good bye, Master. Forever". And maybe Tony due to his immense responsiblity as the governor could not run off and try to find her as he had in the second part of Guess Who's Going To Be a Bride. Or maybe the other possibility is that he was still denying his feelings about her to himself.

If you consider Election Day a holiday, this is the closest show to be considered a holiday episode.
