I think it would have been unnecessary since Maude only appeared on All in the Family once. Now if Maude had returned to see Edith in Queens then I could see that but defintely not the Bunkers going to Tuckahoe, NY.

Maude was on All In The Family two times.

First time in episode 13 in season two........everyone was sick, besides Edith.

Then, the last episode (24) of season two was served as a SPIN OFF for Maude.



Side note - I really hate when they ADD a pilot for a tv show in a POPULAR TV show.

It doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Married...With Children did that a few times.

Those appearances of Maude on All in the Family were not crossovers because the show "Maude" had not premeired on CBS yet when she made those apperances. Only if Maude appeared on AITF after September of 1972, it would then be a crossover.
Just like Archie and Edith being at Maude's house was an All in the Family episode so it would be a crossover.

like i said, u know yr TV quite well. hehe

I would not mind seeing more interaction between the Bunkers and Findlays. They were pretty damn funny together.

I still think its amazing they spun a show off based on one appearance. Lear had wanted to work with her since the 50s, according to a New York Times article in 72.
