I was hoping she would show up in the fourth season DVD, but I guess it is obviously a later one.

She doesn't show up until season 6 actually. Here's the scoop from TVTome.
I love the eps with her/he in them - such a sweet person! I still cry everytime the final ep of her/he is showed!!

i didn;t know right off the top of my head when Beverly lasalle first appeared but i did know it was after the Jeffersons left the show. I love this quote by Beverly Lasalle to Archie

:lol: I can even hear the voice reading that line "I told you" in Beverly's voice and then lowered to natural voice for "I'm no lady"!!

The shows with Beverly had to be the sweetest and moving ones for me. She even won Archie over eventually!

Oh yes,I loved Beverly too.Her first two episodes were the best.The studio audience really went wild in both those episodes,which were titled"Archie The Hero"and"Beverly Rides Again".The latter came out during season 7.Season 8 was when Beverly's last episode"Edith's Crisis Of Faith"occurred.It's a real tragedy what happened to him in that episode.There was something special about Beverly LaSalle.

It is a real shame they had to kill off Beverly.

Even though Beverly was a VERY likeable character, the whole introduction of "her" was for a purpose.

In the 70s (and 80s) for that matter, gay bashing seemed to becoming a sport. (I know even in my city, it was a annual "rite" to go downtown armed with eggs and tomatoes and throw them at the gays going in and out of the one gay bar there was at the time).

I'm positive they worked it so that you would get to know the PERSON instead of the facade and it broke down barriers. Even old Arch was won over by her. That way, it made more of a impact when they had her beaten to death by homophobes. It was to send a message that we're all human beings with feelings and the injustice in assuming things and killing people based on prejudices. Very powerful.

What city did you live in?

Yes, I'd be interested to know what town that was they did that stuff in, but you don't have to tell us, Tripperfan. I'd bet that Anita Bryant would have more support today than she did back then. What a loser she is. Where is she today?? Does anybody care?
