It's down DRAMATICALLY from Season 1... and down significantly from Season 2. It's no longer competitive for 1st in it's timeslot.

And yet you'll still hear Trump saying that the show is still a ratings bonanza for NBC. Season 1 was better than season 2 (though s2 was pretty good), and although season 3 is okay, it kinda gets old fast if there aren't any fireworks between contestants.

How close has the apprentice been to being in the Top 5 since season 1?

I'm not sure... but last season it was getting ratings around 10-11 share(it was getting 13-14 share in Season 1). 10-11 is not nearly enough for Top 5 and just barely(I think) for Top 10. Now it's down around an 8 share.

Next Season its ratings will probably fall further. C.S.I. is killing them in the ratings and it isn't even close any more.

Yeah... CSI is consistently in the Top 5 and has been #1 several weeks(Desperate Housewives has topped it), but it's always up there with DH, Idol, and Survivor.
