Nationwide Free Frosty Giveaway at Wendy’s
This weekend at Wendy's nationwide, Frostys are on the house. From Friday, May 13, through Sunday, May 15, consumers can pick up a free Junior Frosty at their local Wendy's restaurant. No purchase is required for customers to receive the free dessert. The company estimates it will give away more than 14 million Junior Frostys during the special three-day event.
"We're thanking our loyal customers for their support following the incident in San Jose," saus Tom Mueller, Wendy's president and chief operating officer. "Dave Thomas insisted we always 'do the right thing,' and we have kept our word. Our customers stood by us while we defended our good name and protected our employees' livelihoods, so now we're showing our appreciation with free Frostys."
Wendy's recently conducted the same offering in the San Francisco Bay area and Sacramento. Customers turned out in record numbers and stores gave away more than 100,000 Frostys. National TV and print advertising will be used to highlight this weekend's promotion.

theshark8777 05-10-2005, 06:29 PM I read this when I was looking up Tim Hortons, apparently they are owned by the same person.
theshark8777 05-10-2005, 06:30 PM A free finger in every one?!! COOL!
Free finger but from what I gather, you have to supply your own.
TripperFan 05-10-2005, 09:20 PM Free finger but from what I gather, you have to supply your own.
Just as long as I don't find one in my Timmy's!! (I like McDonald's shakes over Frosty's anyways)
(Yes - they are now both owned by Wendy's Corp. - Tim Horton's started in Toronto in the late 60s by Tim Horton the hockey player (died in a car accident). They are HUGE here - one on almost every corner and most people like them way better than Starbucks or anything else!
MsOrange 05-10-2005, 09:21 PM cooooooooooooooool

SO Games 4 Us 05-11-2005, 03:10 AM me don't trust them. probably another chance for them to stick a body part in food.

That's nasty.....I've had hair in my food before and that's gross enough!
Chelsea 05-11-2005, 03:03 PM Just a reminder to those who didn't know: The whole thing turned out to be a bogus - it's suspected the finger was planted in the food by the complainee (who has a record of going after corporations with bogus charges). She's currently awaiting trial on various charges.
Mr. Television 05-11-2005, 06:46 PM I'd rather have a free bowl of chilli. Thats my favorite and that would really show my support for Wendy's.

For the record, I did know, was just making a joke about the free finger in every Frosty!!
Hey - there's another menu idea actually! Frosty Fingers - frozen treats - no need for a stick!! ;)

You should see what happens when you find a human molar have way through eating a burger like my friend did - we almost ALL lost our lunches that day!! :barf:

Its best to be blindfolded when you eat out. Thats why I never look to carefully at what I eat. It might spoil the mood.

 Same here! I figure with some of the stuff I know I've consumed, and some of the stuff I don't know I've consumed over the years, if it hasn't killed me yet - it ain't gonna!!
Just go (true wilderness) camping sometime!! I've eaten meat that was cooked with tons of insects in it (early evening - the light of the fire attracts them), then just washing the pan in cold lake water, using it again in the morning for breakfast after snails and everything else crawled through it overnight! :D ('course there was usually enough alcohol consumed on those trips to kill anything off)! ;)
And isn't it funny that people freak when they get even their own hair in their food, but then girls will "suck" on the ends of their hair, twirl it under their noses and put it back in their mouths again! It's like if it's one, single hair, its disgusting, but a handful of 20,000 is absolutely delicious!
Brent88 05-11-2005, 11:13 PM I'll take mine without a finger, please.
(Yes I know it was a hoax).
MsOrange 05-12-2005, 08:02 PM I went to Wendys today during my lunch break, and there was this lady that came in asking if she could get her some free frostys.. and when the lady told her it was tommorow she about had a breakdown. THe starts crying that she's got a bus load of senior citiznes from the nursing home and they can't get out tommorow, and of course everyone thinks this is a big hoax and tells her that she will just have to wait till tommorow like everyone else. Well turns out she did have a bus full of senior citiznes. I felt kind of bad for her; but the manager said there was just no way she could do it cause the register were set up in a way that it woudln't accept it till tommorow.
As somone who works w/ the public (i'm a cashier), I can understand where the manager was coming from, but I still felt sorry for that lady.
Anyway, thought i'd share :)
I'm getting my free one tommorow!

theshark8777 05-13-2005, 05:36 PM Hey Tripper,
I just read the fine print, does not include Canada.
Whats up with that?
SO Games 4 Us 05-13-2005, 06:48 PM it was a hoax-get over it!
dude, CALM DOWN! I didn't know it was hoax until today. wow, U must 1 of those that gets "offended" real easily.
swedeace 05-13-2005, 08:54 PM What is weird is that my co-workers and I picked up lunch from Wendy's today (no one had chili - haha!), and the cashier told me, "...and here's your free Frosty's." I spaced out they were free this weekend. A co-worker told me, "Yeah, they're free even without any purchase necessary." I love them!!! They're so chocolately and ice creamy! Is that a real word? Either way... I think I will go back this weekend for more.... Yum!
Karen* 05-13-2005, 09:02 PM Holy sh*t, I live near a Wendy's and I haven't been there in ages. Honestly, I'm not too crazy about their food, but I miss them Frosties!
TripperFan 05-13-2005, 10:29 PM Hey Tripper,

I know - we always get screwed on the good deals up here!!! I guess they figure we don't listen to the news or read newspapers or something! I'm sure business has dropped up here too. I feel badly for them.
If it wasn't a 2 hr. drive to the border, I would have taken a run down and grabbed one!!
At any rate, my husband's using it as an excuse and plans on bringing Wendy's home tomorrow for dinner. I don't care as long as I don't have to cook!!
There's a few other things we can't get up here anymore that I'll take a run down for a day and still do some shopping and grocery shopping in the states. We once took an entire day just driving around Buffalo (probably the armpit of the U.S.) just looking for the one damn Olive Garden that's there. They closed that chain up here a few years ago (God knows why because it was always packed) so we go down for our fix of breadsticks and salad sometimes.
I want a free frosty!!! :(
CollegeDropout 05-14-2005, 12:16 AM haha me and my friend were bored so we went and obviously it worked on her, because she bought food, see I just take the free frosty and not buy anything else ;)
MsOrange 05-14-2005, 12:26 AM i got my free frosty
Rebel Queen 1980 05-14-2005, 12:47 AM I live in a small town,We don't have a Wendy's but they're nearby,But I love
the free week in September that Sonic has in our town in September.
They celebrate the 1950's the first week with free drinks, ice cream,
and the foods priced at like 1.00 to 2.00.I'm not kidding!
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 05-14-2005, 01:31 AM I WANT MY FROSTY. Ugh. I shouldve gone today. Whatever, Ill get like 3 tomorrow.

The answer is on the Nickolodian show "The Fairly Odd Parents"
"Canada has had it too good for too long!"
They're jealous of you!

Jealous bastards!!! Just cuz we have great backbacon and beer up here! Its a conspiracy to isolate us!
Well then, guess its time to haul out my little trunk of body parts and hit the fast food chains!
Wish we had Sonic up here - I've never tried them and they look like they have a lot of goodies there! We can't even get mashed potatoes or biscuits at KFC - only fries with gravy or these petrified rolls that could kill someone!
vienna waits 05-14-2005, 10:56 AM do they have vanilla frosties? btw i saw on the news how the unlimited thing was a mistake. this news guy was going through again and again lolol until they nicely asked him to leave.

I've never seen one - only the chocolate (which isn't very chocolatey to me - that's why I like Micky D's shakes better). But who knows - may be different in the States.
Yeah, doesn't surprise me that they want to keep you down to only one a day. It should be used as a "lost leader" anyway just to bring people into the store and hope they order something else while they're there. It's only fair - that guy certainly isn't thinking about all the people that got laid off because of that stupid b*itch. She was all smiles in court even.
Mr. Television 05-14-2005, 12:37 PM I wish they had vanilla. I'm allergic to chocolate.
Brian 05-14-2005, 02:51 PM I have only ever seen chocolate here too. I also love McDonald's shakes. They are so thick.
I think they do only have chocolate.
McDonald's shakes vary in taste by location. After every softball game my team played in high school, we would go to a shopping center where there was a McDonald's and a Burger King. I'd get the food from the BK and the shakes/desserts from McDonald's. Some other locations had terrible shakes.
I prefer shakes from Jack in the Box over any other place.

Oh yeah!! The only time I got to eat at Jack in the Box was when I visited Dallas - great onion rings too!
I know what you mean about the McD's shakes - they do tend to vary, but luckily I've found two locations that make good, chocolately ones! I just have to double check because one time at the drive thru they tried to pawn off a strawberry one on me (bbbblllleeecccchhhh!).
Recently though, I asked for a chocolate one, and it ended up vanilla. Turned out the chocolate syrup had run out and I had to wait 20 minutes for them to change the thing and get it primed and a new shake. It was great though - being the first one from a new canister, it was really chocolately!
Maybe you should try phoning Wendy's head office Nighthawk and mentioning your allergy, and how you'd like to see them in vanilla. You can't be the only person that's allergic or doesn't like chocolate!
Brian 05-14-2005, 03:28 PM I believe JITB only has locations on the western side of the United States. My family used to live close to someone who worked with the company (he was one of the higher-ups) and he said there were restaurants on the east coast but they didn't do as well as the western side of the United States. I didn't know until a couple of years ago (here at SO, in fact) that JITB was only around on the west side.

Yup - I haven't seen them in my travels in New York state at all. I think Sonic Burger is only in certain states as well. Again, never have seen them in the northeast.
Well, I'm just going to have to make another visit down to the west coast or Texas again soon! Now my mouth's watering for a shake and onion rings!!
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 05-14-2005, 06:00 PM My frosty was heavenly. Mmmm. I prefer them waaay over McD shakes since they seem to be more milky and chocolaty [duh], while the frosties are more like a soft serve ice cream.
TheHappyBurgerMeister 05-14-2005, 06:08 PM I'm going to get my free frosty tomorrow!
I'm also a little confused because I thought the whole finger thing was a hoax, but I was watching my local news yesterday and they said "find out where the finger in the Wendy's chili came from- up next!" and I'm like what??
Well, they said the finger belonged to a man that worked with the ladies husband. So, when they say it was a hoax do they mean she planted it in there or what? I just thought the lady was psycho and made the WHOLE thing completely up. Or else my news station has it all wrong.

Yes it was planted by the lady who said she found it in there.
TripperFan 05-14-2005, 06:17 PM Yes it was planted by the lady who said she found it in there.
Which REALLY grosses me out because apparently the finger was lost in an industrial accident in March. The woman's husband I guess, asked for it - the guy gave it to him and considering when the plant was done, means they must have kept it in their freezer for a couple of weeks!!!
EEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWW - imagine finding that out after having dinner at their place a week before or something!!!
