Hey gang,

Was up? I hope everyone is doing well. Once again I am here, humbley asking for help lol.

I'm working on a very special project and will be stopping by more often than before. If you guys are up to it I could really use your help. I can not devulge to much information about this "new" project becasue of legal reasons but I can say that the Freddie fans will be pleased when its finished.

I am in the infancy of this project but am very excited, its been a long time coming. It's going to take blood sweat and tears but I am up to the challenge if you are. Some of the methods I use may not make any sense....now...but I assure you they will slowly come to light in time.

It is important to me for you guys (and gals) to participate in this because you are Freddie's true fans and you are so much more than just fans. You are friends. You are my inspiration and together we can make sure all the Freddie facts come out and dispell all the myths about him and his death.

So here is the first question of many that I need help with:

CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE NICKNAME FREDDIE's MOM HAD FOR FREDDIE? I think it was a spanish word but I cant seem to remember it. If you can answer this question please post it in your reply or e-mail me directly at: laz@justlaz.com

QUESTION TWO:
CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE NAME OR NUMBER OF THE EPISODE IN WHICH FREDDIE PLAYS AND SINGS A SIMPLE RIFF ON HIS GUITAR IN THE VAN?

Thats all the trivia for now, thankx for all your help in advance and God Bless.

Hi Laz! It's always fun to see you around here. I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your first question but the second one I can think of at least 8 where he sang and/or played his guitar. There may be more because when TVLand aired the show they cut out some of those scenes, but now that American Life channel is showing them, we get to see more of them. Hope that helps though! :)

I went through a list of episodes and I think these are all ones that he sings and/or plays his guitar:
1. Pilot episode
2. Second thoughts
3. Visit from Sammy
4. The Veterans
5. Old Dog
6. Long Live The Man
7. Chico and The Van
8. The Dream

If anyone knows anymore, please list them, but this is all I could remember.:)

Oh yeah! If I had to guess, I would think that his nickname was close to what Selena's was when she was a little girl...Preciosa....precious......but I really don't know if that's it or not, just a guess.

Hey, Suz, would Isaac know what Maria called Freddie???

Dani, you did a great job covering all the ones that Freddie played in. BTW I wouldn't use the Sammy Davis episode as an example of Freddie's talent. I think he was purposely told to play and sing badly for that episode to go along with the story line. He was a much better player and singer than that episode shows. I like the one episode where he plays that song for Ed at the end.... "There once was a man named Chico....etc."

BTW Laz, do you still have all the tapes and articles I gave you??? Your project sounds exciting, keep us posted.

Good question Luckymama! I'll get right on it and see what Mando has to say about it. Isaac has told me that he has been in touch with Maria a number of times. I will try to contact him tomorrow and see what he has to say about it! :seeya:

I received another email from Isaac after he talked to Maria. Here is the email I recieved......

Suz,

I got some great news for you! I spoke with Freddie's mother this morning,
and I asked her if it was O.K., to let you know Freddie's "nick-name". She
said yes!

When Freddie was a little boy, he used tolike to be called "Pete". He would
tell everyone, "my name is Pete". For some reason,he liked the name, I
suppose, but that, my dear, was his nickname. So, you have the "go-ahead"
to use it!...Mando

Hey all,

Wow! Thank you guys for the help. Danisel331, very impressed with that list, that was quite a list, if I were to give your list a rating from 1-10 I would make it ....an 8 cause thats how many things were on this list. ;) I will check those other episodes out.

Suz thankx I was lucky enough to get the episodes of CATM from Luckymama, LUV YA LUCKY! And also thankx for getting that rare info from Freddie's mom <----Still in shock. I couldnt beleive it, I immediatly thought, 6 degrees of separation. I was so honered that she would share personal information like that. Thankx to Issac also <----still in shock.

I was wondering if it was "Pete" was pronounced a different way that said in English, for some reason I remember it being spanish. I dunno, dum question.

By the way George Lopez is talking about Freddie on ABC, PrimeTime Live, right now. Weird.

Ok. So Lucky, that was the episode I was looking for, where Chico sings, "There once was a man they call Chico..." Anyone know what that episode was called?

Since there were more than one episode in which he plays guitar and sings, can we take a vote for the most memorable and/or your favorite song? If you had your choice which one did Freddie most enjoy doing?

I wonder if Freddie came up with the tunes himself.

Goodnight
LaZ

Well, you know I try. LOL Anyway, the show where he sings "There once was a man named Ed Brown......" LOL That's how it started, but "Along came Chico, tall and good lookin' not your average Freak-o!" was "The Old Dog" where the specialty of the house was-------what else?--------MUFFINS!
