Hey Brent, you're slipping. ;)

FOX News is reporting that the police are going to have a press conference at any moment now and that an arrest is going to be made today.

I don't want to start rumors, but I half heard something about one of the girl's fathers being questioned.

I guess he just got out of prison for aggravated assault. Still, doesn't mean it's him though.

Whoever the animal is, I'm glad an arrest is pending. What a horrific crime.

Chasing folks around a trailer park in Texas with a chainsaw. He sounds suspicious, since I think he found the bodies. I didnt't hear an arrest was pending .... I hope so.

one thing I hate is that cops and the media always wants to assume the worst about people.

When a kid is missing or dies... they always want to blame the parents.

There have been a few wackos who have killed their children, but these people believe that every single mom and dad have this inate hatred for their kids and makes them want to kill them. The father has gone to jail in the past, but what he's gotten arrested before is nowhere as bad as killing your daughter.

Now if he turns out to be guilty, I'll be eating my words. But it seems that everytime a child turns up dead or missing these days, media is so willing to say "it's the parents to blame", and I have a hard time believing that many parents are that malicious towards their own flesh and blood.

From what I've been hearing, they took samples of the father's clothes and other things. One investigator was saying that if an arrest is made within 24 hours, the cops must have a lot of evidence.

In every homicide, they have to start with the family and work their way out. They have to rule them out. Apparently, the majority of crimes are committed by family.

I know what you mean, but statistics show that its usually a very close family member who's responsible so its the first thing they check into. :( Just a wonderful world we're living in.

I seem to have lost interest in the news... especially the more local stories(like missing children/women). The runaway bride and how the media obsessed kind of drove me away.

Father has been charged BTW. Police are holding a news conference right now.

I definitely understand what you're saying. I think since the JonBenet Ramsey case, prosecutors have been investigating the parents to the fullest extent possible. Many still believe that Pat and What's-His-Name Ramsey killed her, but they just don't have the evidence to prove it.

After he is arraigned in the morning, authorities are going to reveal more information regarding the evidence which led to his arrest.

Father Allegedly Confessed to Stabbing Girls, Denied Bond

WAUKEGAN, Ill. — The man charged with stabbing his young daughter and her best friend to death was denied bond Wednesday during a court hearing. Authorities said he confessed to the gruesome crimes in videotaped interviews.

Jerry Hobbs — who had recently been released from prison on assault charges — told investigators he was angry at his 8-year-old daughter Laura Hobbs for taking money from her mother when he tracked down her and her friend Krystal Tobias, 9, in a wooded park, prosecutors said Wednesday.

He punched Laura and then killed both girls, stabbing his daughter over and over again in the neck and eyes, prosecutors said during Wednesday's hearing, the accused killer's first court appearance.

Hobbs, shackled and in a dark blue jail uniform, stared at the courtroom floor as Assistant Lake County State's Attorney Jeff Pavletic described the case against him.

"This was a slaughter of two little girls," Pavletic said.

The killer was so enraged, he said, that the knife wounds went through Laura Hobbs' neck into her spine.

After hearing the prosecutor's descriptions, the judge ordered Hobbs held without bond. A public defender had not yet been appointed to represent him.

I take it back. He is not an innocent man. In fact he is an abusive father and the type of
murderer that needs to be taken out of society via the death penalty. But I will still wait for
the official judgement from our legal system.

courts.

I agreed with everything you said up until the last line.

my reply: Like HE was more merciful to his 8 yr old daughter for making a mistake - like HE was even more merciful to her totally innocent girlfriend who just happened to be there? I think not! May he rest in Satan's arms for eternity!:angryfire Only a sadist or madman stabs a daughter in the eyes.

This is just terrible. I can not understand how someone could do this to their own child. It makes me wonder what kind of home life this poor girl had to endure living with that guy and his violent ways.
