I recently found out that Mabel King was a blues/rock singer in the 50's and 60's. Has anybody ever heard anything by her? I know one of her singles from the 50's was called "Alabama Rock and Roll." There doesn't seem to be any CD releases of her sadly. It is hard to imagine "Mama Thomas" belting out tunes, but in a way I can see her doing it. I'm sure probably sang in "The Wiz."

I've never heard her rock songs, but I have heard her sing in the Wiz. she sings a song call Don't Nobody Bring Me No Bad News and she sings it good.
