View Full Version : Donna or Kim
seventies_sitcoms 05-06-2005, 07:25 PM Usually I don't ask questions like this, but who do you think was better looking on the show- Kim Hilton ...I mean Richards or Donna Wilkes? I don't even remember Krista Erickson. I probably have to say I like Kim better.
Mr. Television 05-06-2005, 07:37 PM Kim Richards. I always liked her.

Kim! Krista's still around doing the odd indy thing. Actually she's fine today. Kim put on weight. Not knocking that just stating the facts. I agree...Donna, eh. Wasn't she fired from the show for drugs?
seventies_sitcoms 05-10-2005, 09:59 PM I don't know if Donna was fired because of drugs or not. After Hello, Larry she became "Angel"- High School Student By Day, Hollywood Hooker At Night.

Yeah, I recall finding the trailer to that on VideoDetective.com.

Well, I'll go with Kim since she was cute beyond belief and had a sexy gravely voice even as a little girl.
TV_Forever 08-05-2005, 08:56 AM Kim TOTALLY...
BTW, it was NICE to see the pilot on Diff'rent Strokes DVD release ;)
Tweety 12-17-2005, 08:28 AM Kim, without a doubt...she was just toooo cute!!
And she always seemed to be such a nice girl, in every thing I've ever seen her in...
I think most guys back than probably had a crush on her... I know a whole lot of my friends liked her, and we'd pretty much watch anything she was in...

"Tweety says 'hi' " would be a good start!
You mentioned that you haven't met her YET... do you go to autograph/signing shows? And have you met any stars that we grew up watching? I grew up in the 60s and 70s myself... I don't guess I've ever met a TV celebrity, just a few professional athletes, which to me is not the same thing...
I suppose if I ever did meet someone like that I would want them to know how much I appreciated their contribution to our childhood entertainment during the time I was growing up... at least, I hope I could get those words out :)
They all pretty much gave up what should be a care-free time of life (i.e. childhood) in order to do what they did... And even though Hollywood usually forgets them as soon as they're no longer 'useful', it'd be nice to let them know that they all have a lot of fans out here that very much appreciate
what they did.

thanks for your response!
that's cool! if you go to www.jumptheshark.com and check out the "My Three Sons" page, you will see a comment posted by Dawn herself (she wasn't the first to post on that page, but she was responding to numerous posts that had criticized her and the show, and when someone who was actually involved in a show posts a comment, the web masters will put the comment at the top of the page, in a different color font, so that it stands out from the other comments)... I've not had an opportunity to meet her, but I did email her and we exchanged a couple of very nice emails... she seems like a very, very, very nice lady today...and I never minded the Dodie character, I thought she was cute... but she did say that the producers of M3Sons made her wear skirts that were way too short for her in order to make her appear to be younger than she really was... but she adored the people she worked with on the show, and has great memories of being on it...
I would consider it an honor to meet her today.
If I keep my eyes and ears open, maybe I will have an opportunity to meet some of these folks I've liked for so long... I'm a couple of hours away from the Orlando area, where Debi Storm (Molly Webber, Marcia's 'rival' in a Brady Bunch episode) lives and where her husband owns and operates a BBQ place, and one of these days when my wife and I are up that way, we plan on stopping by there, and maybe meeting Debi if she's available at the time we're in the area...

snl 70s show fan 03-20-2006, 04:11 PM just a little update i bought a vintage kim richards autograph for my collection last week its nice to have her autograph in my collection but i still hope to meet her one day
Mikado 04-16-2006, 09:54 PM Kim and i are about the same age, ive been secretly crushing on her since we were about 8 or 9 when she did Return to witch mountain! ( Boy am i ever dating myself " But then, who else would?"~~Dogbert )
Mr. Tia 01-29-2007, 03:26 AM i guess i'm resuscitating a really really dead thread but how could i not sound off on the timeless kim vs. donna controversy? it's the biggest throwdown celebrity deathmatch since ginger vs. mary ann.
kim richards was maybe a bit young to be groovin' on in "that way" in the hello larry days but she's a rare beauty, as anyone who ever saw tuff turf or meatballs II or escape will tell ya. she sorta put on a bit of weight, i guess, later on but whaddaya want? she had four kids! anyone who happens to get a copy of a two-dvd movie called "devil dog," she has a long interview piece on there made very recently and for being forty-something she's still scary beautiful, she looks like she's 25.
Mr. Tia 01-29-2007, 03:27 AM that said, donna wilkes is beautiful too. you hate to make it a competition, it's like apples and oranges in my book.
Tweety 01-29-2007, 07:35 AM There's an interview with Kim from Entertainment tonight on YouTube at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDSgBEDxvK0
This is actually about "Nanny and the Professor", and talks about the cast in a "Whatever happened to..." segment.
It talks about Heather Mills' marriage to Maxwell Caulfield, who was 18 years her junior... but that marriage took place in 1980, so it doesn't really date this ET segment at all... (they're still married, according to Wikipedia).
I really can't tell what year this clip was from, but Kim had already had her fourth child by that time, and it also talked about her mother's cancer. It showed Kim interacting with two of her children at her home, but there's no way of knowing if the two kids were her youngest or oldest.
Kim looks great in that interview.
There are several links to video of Richards (including scenes from "Tuff Turf" and "The Love Boat", "Meatballs II" and "Escape"). The video quality of the clips varies, of course.
These links can be found at:

Mr. Tia 01-29-2007, 11:31 AM i wanna say the ET clip is from 2001? i forget. nanny and the prof was also a great show, i have a bunch of it at home. N&tP and Hello Larry are both shows where i think it's criminal they haven't been released on DVD yet. and all that intrigue! the drinking binges on the set! the poor kid who committed suicide! it sounds like diff'rent strokes, where it was at least as dramatic behind the camera as in front of it.
anyway, it's funny, i think she looks good there but she's actually slimmed up since then and looks even better now. one of these days i'll get around to posting some of that devil dog interview.
and don't miss the clip from "special delivery"! it's pretty funny. :D i personally think KR was a little cursed by her beauty -- she actually has a good sense of comic timing but nobody ever notices cuz they get all wrapped up in how beautiful she is. not that i blame them.
i was geekin' on donna wilkes with a friend online last night. i was stunned to discover donna wilkes was the lead in that 80s movie "angel," about the prostitute who goes on a revenge killing spree? turns out hello larry was one of her few forays into anything other than freaky horror movies with titles like "schizoid." whoa.
i can't find angel on netflix, which is totally upsetting. does anyone know if it's out on dvd at all?
Mr. Tia 01-29-2007, 12:41 PM update -- put up the kim richards interview from last year. who knew mclean stevenson dropped his pants at every taping? not me.
