View Full Version : DVD Release in September 2005! Pavan 05-06-2005, 12:14 PM MPI Home Video will be releasing The Beverly Hillbillies on DVD this September! More info will be coming soon... TV DVD Fan 05-06-2005, 03:52 PM ... cant wait. pat Munsters#1 05-15-2005, 05:46 PM As what? Season by Season? Best of? TV DVD Fan 05-16-2005, 05:00 PM september 27th will see the release of an authorized (1st ever authorized release) best of set. 4 disc/26 episode set. with extras! full article- http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=3418 pat Munsters#1 05-19-2005, 12:24 PM I looked over the episodes. It's not really a "Best Of", It's the first 26 episodes of the 36 episode first season. I don't know why they just didn't release the last 10 episodes of the first season, and make it, "The Beverly Hillbillies: The Complete First Season". I mean, come on, wouldn't that have made more sense? TV DVD Fan 05-19-2005, 04:51 PM yeah you're right #1. that is kinda ******** releasing only the first 26 episodes of the season. maybe they have a good reason? (cant imagine what though) pat treky 06-01-2005, 03:06 AM maybe they could only get the rights to the first 26 episodes? Or maybe the other 15 episodes (or however many there are) are, in such bad shape that, unfortunately, they can't be released on DVD. I heard that this is why some shows may never make it to DVD, sadly. treky 06-01-2005, 03:32 AM MPI Home Video will be releasing The Beverly Hillbillies on DVD this September! More info will be coming soon... cool! Maybe they'll include the parts at the beginning and end of the first episode that you never see in sydnication! Unlike that AWFUL DVD set of some of the early episodes from Diamond Entertainment! The parts at the beggining and end that are never seen in sydnication, are: it starts out with an areil shot of Beverlly Hills, and the announcer (Bill Bawldwin) says: "This is Beverly Hills" The camera shows a closer view, and he says "Home to Movie Stars, Doctors, lawyers"-they then show the Clampetts driving down the street. He then says "And HILLBILLIES???!!!" (something) then "Here are The Beverly Hillbillies"-if you've seen the first episode, then you know the rest of it. Then, at the end, they show a close-up of Mr. Drysdale saying "Well-I finally got them all rounded back up, and they moved in to their mansion." The camera then pulls back and shows that he's talking to a phsychiatrist. He then tells him how he got Elly May a date with a guy who works at the bank. Then they switch to a scene of Mr. Drysdale and the guy standing at the bottom of the stairs in the Clammpett mansion, while Elly comes down stairs dressed in a beatiful gown. Mr. Drysdale introduces them, and the guy says, "Miss Clammpett", takes her hand and bends over to kiss it-then Elly gives him a back flip!! Mr. Drysdale says "Miss Clampett! What did you do that for?" And she replies "That rascal was fixin' to bite me!" treky 06-01-2005, 03:51 AM I just read the article that Pav gave the link to, an it WILL be the entire 1st season, exept for the episode "Back Home For Christmas". TV DVD Fan 06-01-2005, 04:11 PM wrong it will include 26 of the FIRST 27 episodes of the first season. i assume they plan on releasing the other first season episodes in a future release and home for christmas on a holiday release or something... pat treky 07-24-2005, 02:17 AM they ARE planning on releasing the rest of the first season in a later set. I sent an e-mail to www.tvshowsondvd.com and asked them why MCI is doing this; and they said they told MCI that it's a bad idea in numerous e-mails; but they wouldn't listen. Nevertheless, I'm still exited about it; and I can't wait. I was going to pre-order it fromamazon.com ; but on second thought; I think I'll wait and see if they release the entire first season later. Maybe people will complain once it comes out, and MCI will change their mind. TV DVD Fan 08-15-2005, 12:18 PM I wouldn't hold my breath on that, treky. pat TV DVD Fan 08-30-2005, 03:55 PM Not a bad review at all. I am surprised that the Collection only contains one introduction for the pilot episode, while the PJ Collection contains 20, one per episode. Grr... still dont got the Ultimate Collection of PJ! (Although its only out today, I'm impatient, you see) pat Munsters#1 09-13-2005, 12:21 AM Read our review here: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/myfavoritemartiantimetravelersdvdreview.html TJ, that's to My Favorite Martian. Where is The Beverly Hillbillies review? TJ 09-13-2005, 12:28 AM Here it is: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/thebeverlyhillbilliesultimatecollectiondvdreview.html Munsters#1 09-13-2005, 04:12 PM Oh boy! I'm thrilled by the bonus features! I pre-ordered mine from eBay. treky 09-13-2005, 04:18 PM that's right! And I can't wait either! I pre-orderd mine from Amazon! I just wish it was the entire first season, though. TV DVD Fan 09-21-2005, 04:26 PM MPI did a splendid job with the Petticoat Junction- Ultimate Collection. It supplied 3 discs with 20 episodes. Like BH, I think they should've included the first season COMPLETE. But thats the breaks. The PJ set had great extras, great intros, and great menus. Kudos to the MPI Home Video Group for a great release, looking forward to the BH UC! Munsters#1 09-21-2005, 05:22 PM I heard BH has some grain, but that's common for all DVD sets. Munsters#1 09-24-2005, 01:08 AM Only 3 more days! It's coming this Tuesday. :D Munsters#1 09-24-2005, 03:20 PM Hey, what's going on? I went to Best Buy today and BH was already on the shelf! It's not supposed to legally come out until Tuesday! treky 09-24-2005, 07:36 PM yea, what IS going on? Someone on amazon.com said that a place near them was selling it already, too. And they said this 2 WEEKS ago!!! Munsters#1 09-24-2005, 08:05 PM If I had not already pre-ordered mine from eBay, I would have bought that one off the shelf I saw today. Man, somebody somewhere, really ****ed up! Munsters#1 09-26-2005, 10:10 PM Well, the official release is tomorrow, anyway. Yay!
