Why can't we have subforums on the Reality Shows board? I would especially find this helpful for the posts on American Idol, since there are so many threads about it on that board.

I have discussed this with Todd (TJ) and he hasn't been too keen on adding a subforum for the show. However he has been listening. One thing I have noticed is that after each AI season ends, AI posts start becoming dormant. Really the only times you will see a lot of threads and discussions about it are when the show is on TV from January to May with a few lingering posts about it a couple months after the finale, since there wouldn't be much to talk about besides concert experiences and rehashes. I really do think that its a good idea, I think that it would be alot easier to have all the posts for one show in its own subforum eg American Idol, Newlyweds etc. Chelsea 05-11-2005, 08:43 PM I really do think that its a good idea, I think that it would be alot easier to have all the posts for one show in its own subforum eg American Idol, Newlyweds etc. Of the current posts on the reality board, 90% are about AI. The ONLY board in that subsection that even has the POTENTIAL post flow to warrant it's own board would be AI, but creating an AI board would effectively kill the Reality board - plus the Reality board traffic decreases substantially in May-December compared to January-May. I suppose your right Rachel3118 07-27-2005, 10:04 PM I think it would be good to have seperate shows for reality so that you don't have to look through it. If there isn't enough on other shows there should be American Idol in one category and other in another category. If the shows were seperate people might post more on it. People were saying that most people don't post about American Idol in the of season but it seems like they post more then alot of other shows. anthontherun 07-28-2005, 05:47 PM I think the way it is works fine. It's pretty depressing to see that 90% of it is American Idol; it'd be more depressing to see Survivor and Amazing Race subforums with no action. I agree with this. :D EmoJoe 07-28-2005, 10:17 PM I think there should be General Reality, American Idol, The Surreal Life, Big Brother, Surviver, and possibly The Apprentice forums on the reality board. These reality shows seem to get the most threads on the reality board and it will make it easier to navigate. gilligan fanatic 07-28-2005, 10:25 PM this is Sitcoms Online not Reality TV online. EmoJoe 07-28-2005, 10:27 PM this is Sitcoms Online not Reality TV online. Yes, but we have seperate forums for dramas so why not reality shows? Its not "drama online" or "chit chat online" either. Courtnee 07-28-2005, 10:31 PM Yes, but we have seperate forums for dramas so why not reality shows? Its not "drama online" or "chit chat online" either. word. Karen* 07-29-2005, 02:14 AM this is Sitcoms Online not Reality TV online. It's mainly Sitcoms, but there's also subforums in Dramas and other forums for other genres of TV. I don't see what's wrong with having subforums in Reality TV. Rachel3118 07-29-2005, 03:03 PM this is Sitcoms Online not Reality TV online. There is still a reality T.V. show page on here so It would be good to have it organized in the best way possible. EmoJoe 07-30-2005, 12:08 AM At least one for American Idol would be better. Yeah, I think at least an AI board would be very beneficial. Chelsea 08-03-2005, 07:48 AM As it stands, many feel the SO boards are fractured enough (YOU try having ~500 subforums sometime), so with the exception of adding new sitcoms as they debut (and a FEW popular dramas), new boards don't get added in other sections, as they'll simply fracture things even more. The ONLY reality show with enough discussion to warrant it's own sub-forum is American Idol - and without it, the Reality Board loses 3/4 of it's conversational matter. As such, sub-forums are **NOT** going to be made any time soon Rachel3118 08-04-2005, 02:29 PM That makes sense. There are alot of categories on sitcoms online and they wouldn't have that much on them. An 80s Guy 10-02-2005, 06:21 PM we need a surreal life fourm and a real world fourm TJ 07-16-2024, 11:07 AM American Idol and The Osbournes were added many years ago. American Idol has 57,850 of the 81,107 posts in the Reality TV Shows section. I have added a few more.
