I just checked the DVD of Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore from my library, and who thought Ellen Burstyn's Alice was not a very likeable person?

I know the movie was a drama, but this Alice seemed very unfriendly and unlikeable. She was mean to her kid too I think. I know she was supposed to be a little rough around the edges because of the things that happened to her in life, but she just didn't seem very likeable to me.

Maybe it was because Ellen was just coming off after doing the exorcist and dealing with the devil! kidding!

It was just really creative taking a flat out drama and turning into a sit-com.

Ellen probably trembled whenever anybody ordered the green pea soup special! :crazy:
