Does anyone know any sitcom actors who based themselves on other actors. There's only two I can remember right now:

Alan Alda (Captain Hawkeye Pierce M*A*S*H) -- Based himself on Groucho Marx (the similarities are easy to notice)

David Hyde Pierce (Niles Krane Frasier) -- Based himself on Tony Randall (pretty obvious one)

Does anyone else know any more?

i once saw an interview where carroll oconnor said that he based his portrayl of archie on a combo. of 3 actors the walk was half jackie gleason half wallace berry and the voice was partly based on james cagney
