The browser IS the window you surf the net in... you have to click it for it to come up.

Since you don't use IE, then it must be some sort of spyware generating popups. run an AdAware scan.

Is Internet Explorer installed? Make sure it's completely gone from the computer...

you can set firefox to be your default browser - but that may not prevent popups in IE if your system is infected (go to the Options on the Tools menu, and on the General tab, make sure firefox is set as the default)

try updating and running your AdAware and Spybot in SAFEMODE - if it can't get rid of the popups post a HijackThis! log.

download the file, unzip it to a new directory (if it is the zipped version - you need to put it into a folder to create backups) then run the program, and scan.
