Wow you guys, it's been like 3 years since I came to this board. I was reading all my old posts [because i'm cool, what can i say :lol: ] and I noticed how immature I was back 3 years ago. I mean, I had times where I almost left, I almost got kicked off, I got my moderator position taken away..haha but it's all good =].

I'm into Annie, now, too. You play a main character and the show sort of becomes yours forever! And the applause/ovations are incredible!!!!!! Yay for the theatre!

It's cool that you got to play Annie!! I've always wanted to play Annie, too, haha. But... I'm not fit for the part, racially. What a shame LOL.

Oh, Annie doesn't have to have certain racial qualifications. I don't think it's as important, really, that she be pale white, so much as...the acting fit the part.
Although, when you're looking for a play to act in, and you look at Annie---if you're female, definitely the best part for ACTING is Miss Hannigan, because she's really multi-dimensional. She has more emotions than, "happy". Annie does too, technically, when she finds out her parents are dead and such, but, for the most part, there's not much ACTING involved, and a lot of lines! But yeah, if you ever get the chance to audition DEFINITELY do it. I always remember what Tootie said in one FOL episode, "Five minutes into the performance, they'll forget they're watching a black actress and they'll just see Eleanor Roosevelt!" You sort of have to keep that attitude. If you're a good enough actress--your audience will see your CHARACTER...not YOU. Which, is what is suppose to happen in acting, anyway.
