View Full Version : Post your fave character here! Brett Ferino 11-23-2000, 12:24 AM Who's your fave character and why? D.Ternowski 04-07-2001, 11:02 AM Lots of great characters on this shoe. Klink probably had the most consistently funny lines and situations. My favorite was when Klink thought a Mr. X was attempting to kill him and before he ate dinner he had Hogan taste each piece of food. It was a classic scene and the other day when it was on television the cable station cut the episode out apparently to make room for comercials. A classic comedy moment was lost. dawsongirl 04-07-2001, 01:43 PM Gee, tough choice. They all have their good points! But I favorite is Newkirk. He was so sneaky, funny, and could dress up like a woman better than anyone! Second would be Schultz. He's so naive. A chocolate bar will make him your best friend whether you're the enemy or not! D. Ternowski 04-07-2001, 08:08 PM There were many great characters that appeared one time only. I can't remeber the name or his rank or even what outfit he was with but there was a German who came to inspect the camp because he believed something had to be wrong. As he put it, "If something sounds too perfect, watch out". I think he was the one who trusted noone. Brian S 04-19-2001, 05:42 PM Klink definitely made the show one of the funniest in the era that it was in. My least favorite character was the British Colonel. Colonel Kritenden(sp) was on 5 or 6 shows. Why he was considered so popular with the writers of the show that they kept bringing him back I have no idea. callmetootie 06-23-2001, 07:36 PM I liked Helga alot, mainly because her chemisry with the cast members was very outgoing. ------------------ Andrew Carden 17Mar59 02-16-2002, 09:24 PM Sergeant Schultz,Colonel Hogan and Colonel Klink, without them there would have been no show;it was all centered around those three for the most part and their relationships. Everyone else pretty much was used as a backboard. I agree about Crittenden,he was really just there to make Klink look better.I mean if you can believe it Crittenden was an even WORSE officer than Klink! If it weren't for Hogan getting him out of all the scrapes he got into Crittenden would've spent the war in a P.O.W. camp. dawsongirl 02-28-2002, 09:58 PM Originally posted by 17Mar59 I agree about Crittenden,he was really just there to make Klink look better.I mean if you can believe it Crittenden was an even WORSE officer than Klink! DTF955 03-15-2002, 11:17 AM Schultz was my favorite, though that might be partly because as a fanfiction writer, there's so much you can do with him. :D Really, it's entertaining the way he knows so little; just seeing his reaction to some of the things Hogan and his men do is great. "Colonel Hogannnn, you are not supposed to go to Plan B! You are a prisoner, you are not even supposed to have a Plan A!" Okay, that's from one of my stories, but you've got to admit, he could get some funny lines. Although Klink's were also very good. I also liked Carter. He reminds me of how I'd be, in the military. (I'm handicapped so I couldn't be drafted, thankfully.) Carter was always trying hard, but messing up a fair amount. He also was often over-trying (like when he did Hitler and general Burkhalter came and wanted to see him), but then managing to get himself out of it. (By shouting about out-of-shape generals, and this one that looked like a stuffed goose. He then promised that one day, that goose would hang high by his ears or something. The scary part is, Burkhalter believed even more that that was Hitler, the nut was like that in real life.) Plus, Carter's the type to just go back home and not want to be in the military after the war, just like I'd be. Rory Michelle 02-28-2004, 01:17 AM Originally posted by dawsongirl Gee, tough choice. But only funnier. dawsongirl 03-02-2004, 04:02 AM Originally posted by Rory Michelle Newkirk was my fav but i think Klinger from Mash dressed funnier as a woman. But only funnier. You're probably right. I'm not a MASH watcher, but I agree. Zebra 3 02-26-2005, 07:11 PM Brilliantly played by Werner Klemperer, the character goes beyond WWII and its POW camps, he's a salute, an homage if you will to every pompous idiot in authority. Bravo! Mr. Television 02-26-2005, 07:56 PM Schultz Lolac 03-09-2005, 08:45 PM I love the regular cast but my favorite guest character was Marya, the White Russian played by Nita Talbot. She was great! I loved how LeBeau thought she was so pure and he trusted her so completely. She called him her "small one." She played a great part and Nita Talbot won an Emmy for her portrayal of Marya. Lolac  gilligan fanatic 03-09-2005, 10:08 PM I like Hogan because he is funny Lady T 03-09-2005, 10:11 PM Newkirk..because he was English and Sexy and Schultz because he was just funny and adorable... Gordon ~ Shirley 06-10-2005, 06:37 PM My favorites :) http://archives.cnn.com/2000/SHOWBIZ/TV/12/07/obit.klemperer.ap/klemperer.ap.jpg And basically all the others too :) |
