Dreamin' since day 1

As we all know by now, arguably the best family drama on network television is now dead. I'm deeply saddened and stunned by NBC's abrupt decision not to include AD within it's miserable Fall 2005 line-up.

I haven't the energy to embark upon typing some lengthy diatribe, expressing my personal disdain for NBC and their calous decision making process.

Did any of you EVER see an AD tune-spot placed within other NBC programs?

Season two is when NBC should have placed some promotional energy behind AD but alas, it did not happen. I guess there is a reason why NBC is #3 of the big 3 networks....this is too painful...I can't type anymore...so I'll just formally say a quick "goodby" to the characters that I've fallen in love with for the past three years.

Goodby Will. I'm sure you'll grow into a strong young man despite the many health concerns during your youth.

Goodby Patty. Though I cant stand you, I still wish you nothing but happiness is as you grow into womanhood.

Goodby Roxanne. I sincerely hope you can reconcile your relationship with your mother. Please know you've got the personality and charisma to go as far in life as your heart desires.

Goodby Nathan. You've progressed immensely over the the years. Keep working hard and I wish you much success with your new business.

Goodby Mrs. Pryor. Thank you for being such a strong role model and matriarch for the the Pryor Family. I'll miss you so much.

Goodby Henry. Though you and the rest of the Walker Family have endured tragedy over the past few years, open your heart and allow love to come back in. Good luck...something tells me you and Jack are going to be partners for a loooooong time.

Goodby JJ. So happy you came back home. Something tells me ideologically you'll be undergoing a major transformation over the next few years. Take care of "Trip" and good luck in Aerospace.

Goodby Jack. So glad you got out of politics. Focus your energy on developing a chain of electronics stores, cause that's where the money is. Also, please be patient with your kids as America enters the most turbulent ten-year period of the 20th century.

Goody Sam. Stay true to who you are and stand strong for your convictions.
You're gonna be just fine my man.

Goodby Meg....I'm gonna miss you the most. I'm so sad I'll never see you grow into the sensitive, spirited, and compassionate woman you'll eventually become.

....damn shame...I'm a grown man and I'm damn near in tears over a TV show!!

Goodby to all of you, I'll miss you immensely.

This is my last day as a "Dreamer"

I am also very sad that the show is not being renewed. However, I do understand that networks cannot renew shows that have such low ratings. It is a business to them. They make their money off advertising dollars, etc. They recognize quality programming, but it is nothing personal to them, strictly business. Many of my favorite shows have gotten the cancellation axe...started with Thirtysomething, then Providence, Ed, Once and Again, and now American Dreams. If a show is not pulling respectable numbers, that is what happens...they get cancelled.

Good bye American Dreams. I enjoyed 3 great years watching the show!
