Rumor is that NBC has cancelled American Dreams. I read it on CNN, which is a pretty reliable source. However, there was no comment from NBC officials. I'm not familiar with the TV industry, but does anyone know if we still have a chance to bring back AD in the fall? Maybe we could start another petition, or write letters to NBC saying that we'll boycott all NBC, Bravo, and USA shows, as well as all products that are advertised on NBC.

American Dreams was my favorite show *ever.* Im so disapointed that its gone, after all we've done to keep it on the air.

Any thoughts??

The only hope would be a pickup by another network(UPN or WB), or maybe you could talk NBC into a true finale to solve everything... but it's not coming back in the Fall on NBC.

I wouldn't even bother with a boycott...

Honestly, the only thing to do now is hope that the second and third seasons are released on DVD.

It;s over. It's too low rated to be picked up by another network. Get the DVD's and enjoy them.

IF this ''news'' from CNN are true...I'll f**** hate NBC for the rest of my life...
maybe we could start a ''we hate NBC campaign...'' instead of sendind ''we love AMERICAN DREAMS ''e-mails,postcards..we could send ''we HATE you'' and call them all kinds of bad names...(I'M JOKING)
but I'm trying not to belive in ANY kind of news at this point...because if they are already spreading the words that AD its over(on CNN and other websites...people with ''conections'')why don't they put on NBC's site? Why haven't we heard anything from the cast?or the producers?or again NBC?maybe the people from the show were told not to say anything about it until may 16th..so how would other people know it for sure?
I'd say we wait until may 16th

I refuse to watch NBC any longer.

Ditto, PIP.

It's not like there's anything good to watch anyway. I counted:
- 4 comedies (although they don't deserve to be called 'comedies')
- 9 police/law ( 4 of them are Law and Orders)
- 2 dramas (ER being one of them. It's really getting out of hand. I've never been to a hospital where a doctor was killed by a helicopter. Have you?)

....so boycotting it will be no problem whatsoever.

maybe we should start a petition to have AD on another network...and promote this ''new campaign'' a lot better!

Your argument is flawed... that's what people are watching now. Everything listed was getting higher ratings than American Dreams.

Comedies have really taken the fall and IMO aren't nearly as good as 15 or 20 years ago... but the ones still on all do better than Dreams did. It's just a simple fact. Boycotting NBC because they cancelled a VERY low rated show is dumb.

I watch lots of those shows on NBC. I watch ER, Law & Order, Will & Grace, The Apprentice. I will not boycott NBC. Like I said in another post, I am sad to see American Dreams end. But the ratings were low, plain and simple. You cannot fault a network executive for that. People are not watching. Why should they produce a show for a scant number of people who will watch. That is reality and facts, plain and simple.

in my opinion, just because a show gets alot of viewers doesn't mean its good. and, just bc a show gets a low viewer turnout doesnt mean its bad.

also, my bad, i should have said boycotting for me will be no problem, b/c in my opinion, NBC lacks quality tv shows. and the only show i watched regularly on NBC was AD.

the execs at NBC only have one thing on their mind, money. and thats sad.

I never said that... I said low-rated shows will not stick around, no matter how good they are.

brent, i agree with you that low rated show will not be kept on the air.

however, i'm not boycotting nbc b/c NBC cancelled a low rated show (like you said), i'm boycotting because NBC cancelled a quality family show. so, "IMO," i dont think its dumb.

I don't watch anything on NBC either.
After Friends ended it's run in 2004, I only had AD left to watch on the network. And now that's gone.

But they do have some good shows, Law and Order, ER, Will & Grace, Scrubs...just none that I watch or follow. Nor any family programming for that matter!

By the way, Joey isn't even funny! It's not the same without the other 5 friends!
