What is your all-time favorite episode of Hogan's Heroes and why?

When Kinch and Battling Bruno got into the ring was a great episode. Another great one was when LeBeau recaptured the painting "The Boy with the Fife" that Burkhalter intended as a birthday gift for the Field Marshal. Hogan convinced Klink that LeBeau had ground up the painting into a powder and suggested that "with tweezers and a little bit of glue...". Off to Paris went Hogan, LeBeau, Schultz, and Langinshide(not certain of the spelling). Schultz was a general and intimidated the "bully boys" when they came to question the people in their room.

Maybe it's because I've seen this episode more than any other, but my fav. is "Swing Shift" where the boys pose as Germans to work in an ammunition factory so they can sabotage it. Newkirk then gets drafted into the German army! The scene where he is trying to keep Klink from noticing him when he is there to pick new guards for Stalag 13 by constantly sneezing is hilarious! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

I remember that one. Klink said something like, "They're not much but I'll take them." He walked right up to Newkirk and said "We are certainly scraping the bottom of the barrel."

I always like the one where the Germans invented "for the first time in history, a noiseless engine", and for some reason the engine was set to be demonstrated at Stalag 13.

The one with Major Hockstedder trying to teach LeBeau how to dance, only to be chewed out by Gen. Burkhalter.

That's an easy one. "War Takes a Holiday" - Hogan and his cohorts convince the Germans that the war has ended so that some prisoners can escape. Hochstetter even falls for it and loans the prisoners his car so they can party in Berlin! Brilliant script. :lol:

The episode with Gruppenfuhrer Freitag. It was suspenseful enough that you were really wondering how Hogan was going to weasel himself out of it, but the best part was of course Schultz. When he and Hogan, and Klink are being shot at by an upset Nazi, Klink orders Schultz to fire back, and Schultz throws his rifle behind a file cabinet and says: "I can't Kommandant, I lost my rifle!" Then when the shooter is supposedly out of bullets he bravely stands up and says: "I'll capture him Herr Kommandant!" Classic Schultz, but it's my favorite. It's also to note that when the shooter fires his last bullet and clears off Klink's hat that a second before the shot is fired, you can see the clear nylon string attached to his hat. A neat little error to see.

Yes, the scenes when Klink realizes who Schultz is as a civilian are hilarious. "Hans and Willy!" And Schultz yelling across the camp in German that the war is over, it's a great episode.

The one where they sneak out at night, blow up a munitions depot, then sneak back in to Stalag 13. Oh, wait, they did that in dozens of episodes.

Lebeau and the Little Old Lady. Very funny, end to end.
