this is one trader that i would be interested to know if anyone has actually gotten tapes from . Travis Huffman (jaxbeach177@aol.com) was supposed to send me a FACTS OF LIFE tape at the end of March.

When I emailed him on the 12th of April to say that I had not received it, he told me it had gotten "returned " to him and he was shipping it again. I just emailed him to tell him I still have not gotten it yet, it's been 2 weeks, and asked what the tracking number on it was. he gave me another story , like "I dont know why it's not there yet...Let me send another one" He did not answer the tracking number question I had and told me his parents emptied the trash and threw out my address.

Now I've got this from him:

I can't lie to you anymore. I thought I could've gotten away with it but you caught me. The truth is, I neevr sent out the tape ONCE. I can';t hide it any mnore and then give phony excuses. It's just not right. I never sent it out before. I PROMISE TO YOU I am going to send it tommorow, although you probably wouldn't believe me because I have lied to you before. I just really need your address ONE more time, please!!! I already made your tapes. It wouldn't be fair


This is one trader to be wary of if you ask me. He's always posting messages asking for Facts of Life episodes, so you have been warned.

Here's a tip. When you have someone's email address and suspect that you are being ripped off, go to Ebay and run their email address in the "advanced search" (top right of page). Go to "Members-Find a Member". Type in the email address. It will tell you whether they are a valid Ebay member and their feedback score. Typically, a user's ID is the email address with out the "@ etc". With that in mind, click "items by seller" and enter the likely user ID (everything but the "@ etc"). You will get a list of close matches. Try to match the ID's with the feedback score that you got in the first search. This will sometimes reveal the person you are looking for. The next step you take is up to you. You could contact people who left feedback and try to get his contact info. I ran "jaxbeach177@aol.com". He/she is a valid Ebay member with a "0" feedback score. There is no "jaxbeach177" user, but there are 3 users with simialr names that also have a 0 feedback score. They are all in Florida. They are jaxbeachcb (2 month user), jaxobeach (9 month user), and jaxbeachdj (10 month user). Good luck.

I should mention that I am not out any tapes or money. I dont usually send out first anyway, unless I have been trading with the person for a while. This is just a warning for this persons odd behavior. He has posted alot on different boards in this group, like in the Facts of Life message board. He even sent me in the beginning an email complaining about my prices and to forget about trading , then the next day apologizing for his outburst and begging to please trade with me. I think he's just not "well" intellectually. No offense to people with special needs, but you can tell alot from a person just by the way he writes an email.

I have done a trade with this person. And he gave me what we agreed to. That is all I got to say about that.

When you make a trade deal it should be cut and dry no ups no extras, whenever i have traded i made sure the person got the item they traded for not excuses and lies, if you sent that email to ma932588 saying you never sent the tape when you said you did then you have no right to complain about what ma932588 posted about you, and this is something that greatly concerns everyone who trades on these boards, there are alot of bad traders that are always looking for their next victim here and im not making any judgments about you, i am however saying if you sent that letter to ma932588 then you have already admitted you are a bad trader so i dont know what you are complaining about.

You can't blame him - he has to watch out for himself too. I don't think it was mean of him to post and ask people since you have admitted you lied to him. He's just wanting to know more about you because no one likes to be ripped off.
You have to admit that your behavior was strange. Why lie? Why play games? He may still give you the benefit of a doubt and trade with you - he's just checking into more background. You would do the same thing if someone had done this to you whether you're out money or not. You say you wasted valuable time making tapes - he spent valuable time waiting and anticipating them and they still haven't got to him.
Don't make it like its his fault and I can't blame him for being wary.

That statement is untrue. If you'd truly tried your best, you would have either sent it like you said you had, or you wouldn't have lied about having sent it.

You received static for good reason, but you have apologized to Paul, which is a step in the right direction.
