Go in and try to "end task" from there - it may even say not responding or something to that effect. Do you have much else open besides the SO session that isn't saved? LOL! :p Warm & Fuzzy 04-25-2005, 11:47 PM What anti-virus software are you running?I take it ZA wouldn't be considered an anti-virus software? James"Thunder"Early 04-25-2005, 11:53 PM Zone Alarm is great. do you have all the latest updates for it? If so run a scan and see what comes up. TripperFan 04-25-2005, 11:54 PM I take it ZA wouldn't be considered an anti-virus software? You really need Norton or McAfee. We're running both, plus a built-in firewall and Ad-Aware (I run that manually every couple of days). Warm & Fuzzy 04-25-2005, 11:57 PM Zone Alarm is great. do you have all the latest updates for it? If so run a scan and see what comes up.How do I run a scan? You really need Norton or McAfee. We're running both, plus a built-in firewall and Ad-Aware (I run that manually every couple of days).Haha, nothing's getting past you! :) I used to have McAfee, but then my trial ended. robyrob 04-25-2005, 11:58 PM its spyware. (nothing wrong with running Zone Alarm or other AV software just in case though) go to the run command and type in msconfig, go to the Startup Tab and look for anything that starts with terra or browselc.exe and clb11154.exe and uncheck to disable them. hold down the ctrl+alt+del keys and see if you recognize any of those names and end those processes. you are going to need to try run your Spybot / AdAware and MS Antispyware programs if you have XP, or you can try search for those files on your hard drive and delete them. if you dont see those names, you may have to create a log with HijackThis TripperFan 04-26-2005, 12:02 AM How do I run a scan? Haha, nothing's getting past you! :) I used to have McAfee, but then my trial ended. We've NEVER had a problem with a virus or anything - EVER!! Luckily Frank gets it freebies from work since he needs to sign on from home sometimes!! I just have it set to let me know when there's new updates to scan for. It's fabulous! Dr. Phillips is probably best to help you run a scan for ZA. I've never used it so I'm not sure if its the same as a windows update or another way. ;) TripperFan 04-26-2005, 12:03 AM Can't you download Ad-Aware free? James"Thunder"Early 04-26-2005, 12:09 AM Ad-Aware is free robyrob 04-26-2005, 12:09 AM How do I run a scan? Haha, nothing's getting past you! :) I used to have McAfee, but then my trial ended. Zone Alarm is your firewall - you can't scan with it. you can go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and click on the Scan Now. It's Free! to run an online virus scan robyrob 04-26-2005, 12:15 AM that popup IS spyware-related though, and if you can't get rid of it with Spybot or AdAware, I would suggest that you go to the Spywareinfo.net (http://forums.spywareinfo.com/) forums for help - those guys are the pros (just make sure you read the FAQ FIRST) Warm & Fuzzy 04-26-2005, 12:15 AM its spyware.
