GET OUT
This sitcom is about a married couple with three grown kids who are living with them, much to their dismay. Tim Allen and Debra Jo Rupp plays Randy and Karen Burke, a set of loving parents who are eagerly, in a subtle way, trying to get their children to move out onto their own. Randy and Karen's kids are as follows: Sarah Burke (Ellen Pompeo), Nicole Burke (Beverley Mitchell), and Matt Burke (Kieran Culken). Randy is a 50 year old successful attorney, who is looking forward to retirement. Karen is a 48 year old Home Ec teacher at the high school. Sarah is a 25 year old bartender, who doesn't know what she really wants out of life. Sarah also can't handle stress very well and tends to overreact. Nicole is a smart yet naive 23 year old preschool aide, who is still in need of some guidance. Matt is a youthful 21 year old college student who isn't thinking about his future just his plans for the weekend. Randy and Karen love Sarah, Nicole,and Matt dearly, but can't wait til they all move out onto their own. Much to their parents' dismay, the kids each are not even ready to think about moving out onto their own.

Episodes
Ep1: Pilot Episode:
Randy and Karen celebrate their 27th wedding anniversary by going out to a fancy supper club for dinner, then a movie, then a night at a fancy hotel. They discuss how they will live after all three of their kids out of the family home.
Ep2: Work Sucks:
Sarah is asked to work for a co-worker, resulting in her working her third double-shift that week. Randy tells Sarah she needs to get a backbone. Randy decides to "teach" her to stand up for herself to her co-workers who tend to walk all over her.
Ep3: The Big 2-1:
It's Matt's 21st birthday. Karen and his sisters want to throw him a party, as where Randy feels it is "his duty" (like his dad did when he turned 21) to take his son to a bar and get him totally hammered. Matt is all for Randy's plans, instead of his mom and sisters' plans of having a good, sit-down dinner and open gifts. After seeing how Karen is hurt, Randy and Matt decide to let the girls put on a dinner and then open gifts, then go to the bar.
Ep4: Parent-Teacher Conferences:
Karen is not looking forward to Parent-Teacher Conferences, due to the fact that she is in no mood to deal with moody parents. (It is Karen's "time of the month" by the way). Karen lets a mother (Rosie O'Donnell) have it after the mother tries Karen's patience one too many times. Randy and the kids are excited to hear about Karen blowing up and telling off a parent.
Ep5: Randy's Kid Sister:
Randy's kid sister, Stephanie (Ricki Lake) pays a surprise visit. Immediately, Stephanie treats Karen, Sarah, and Nicole to a day of shopping, where she breaks the news to them that she has been artificially inseminated and going to raise the baby by herself. They are taken back yet are happy for Stephanie. Stephanie breaks the news to Randy, who can't believe that she would want to screw up her life like that. Randy and Steph get into an arguement. Karen makes Randy make up to his sister before she heads back home to Philadelphia.
Ep6: Great Job To Meet Guys:
Nicole finds being a preschool aide is a good job, because she meets and deals with lots of hunky, single dads. Nicole gets asked out by a dad (Dan Cortese), she accepts his offer. Randy and Karen think Nicole should not date a student's father, plus because of the 12 year age difference.
Ep7: Best Customers:
At the bar, Sarah learns one of her best customers is her brother Matt. At first, she thinks nothing out of the ordinary until she notices him at the bar drinking every night until closing. Sarah talks to Nicole about Matt and his drinking. Nicole feels they should tell their parents, Sarah isn't quite sure what to do, and Matt denies that he drinks too much and too often.
Ep8: Nicole Tells On Matt:
Nicole feels obligated to tell on Matt about his drinking to Randy and Karen. Randy decides to surprise Matt at the bar one night, while Sarah's working. Matt refuses to leave the bar with Randy, who tries to have Sarah help convince Matt to leave. Matt feels he is being ganged-up on, leaves the bar (alone, without Randy), and makes a big scene. Sarah begins to feel guilty about telling on Matt to Nicole, whom told their parents.
Ep9: Out And About:
The next morning after Matt's big scene at the bar, the family learns Matt is not home but left a note (saying he moved out and is living with his friends in their apartment). Karen is hysterical about her "little boy" gone. Randy now is furious, partially knowing he caused it all, and seeing how Karen is being affected by it all. Randy recruits Sarah and Nicole to help him search for Matt.
Ep10: Back Home:
Matt reluctantly moves back home, creating Karen to become overjoyed and wanting to baby her son again. Randy and Sarah look into having Matt sent to an alcohol rehab or if all else fails, at least AA meetings. Nicole is asked out for a second date by single dad, Kevin (Dan Cortese), she accepts this time without telling her disapproving parents.
Ep11: The Overnighter:
Sarah spots Kevin at the bar, talking to his friend about how Nicole spent the night at his house. Sarah eagerly wants to hear the truth from Nicole, who secretly confesses she slept over yet nothing happened sexually anyway. Randy talks to Karen about sending Matt into alcohol rehab, after noticing a bottle of booze is missing from the liquor cabinet.
Ep12: See Ya In Six Weeks:
Randy, Karen, Sarah, and Nicole "drage Matt kicking and screaming" into rehab against his will. They each say their good-byes, Matt has to spend the next 6 weeks in rehab before he can leave. Matt gives his family, mostly his sisters, a big guilt trip right before they leave. Randy and Karen console guilt-ridden Sarah and Nicole.
Ep13: Thanksgiving Without Matt:
Randy, Karen, Sarah, and Nicole must have Thanksgiving without Matt. Karen's recently divorced mom, Lois (Rue McCalahan) drops by for Thanksgiving. Lois learns about Matt being in rehab, Karen feels like a "bad mom" after seeing how Lois reacted to the news. After the family and Lois learn how Karen feels ("she's a bad mom"), they soon decide to show her how she is exactly the opposite of a bad mom, causing her to cheer up a bit more.
Ep14: Divorce Court:
Randy must defend a thrice cheating husband who wants to take his wife for all she's worth after she has an affair to seek revenge. Randy feels his client is at fault, yet has to do his best no matter what. The wife went to high school with Randy, and Randy feels guilty about defending her guilty husband. Karen take her girls to several different garage sales one Saturday morning.
Ep15: Close Call:
Sarah has to close the bar one night. Just as she about to lock up, a masked gunman walks in and demands all the money of he will shoot her. Sarah's heart is beating 10 times faster. Just as she hands him the bag of cash, she knocks him out with the big bag, leaving him knocked out cold. She calls the police, who arrest him. After hearing Sarah's story, her family and co-workers look at Sarah in a "new light".
Ep16: Meeting The Parents:
Nicole meets Kevin's parents: Bob and Paula (Tom Selleck, Judith Light). Bob, Paula, and Kevin want to have dinner sometime with Nicole, Randy, and Karen. Nicole tells her parents about her dating Kevin still. Randy and Karen decide to go out to dinner with Nicole, Kevin, Bob, and Paula. Meanwhile, Sarah is asked to babysit Kevin's 5 year old daughter Hannah.
Ep17: Up For More:
Karen is up for a raise, she schedules a meeting her boss-Principal Wilson (Phylicia Rashad) who happens to give Karen the well-earned and deserved raise. Karen takes the family out to celebrate. Nicole shares the shocking news at dinner that Kevin's daughter, Hannah called her her "new mommy" during preschool. Randy feels Nicole and Kevin's dating is getting too serious for her to handle.
Ep18: Welcome Home Matt:
Randy, Karen, Sarah, and Nicole welcome a 6 weeks sober Matt home. Matt apologizes to his parents and sisters for all the pain and agony he broughton them. Matt also learns about Karen's new raise, Sarah's heroic robbery story, and Nicole dating Kevin seriously.
Ep19: Happy 2006:
Karen and Randy attend a co-worker of Randy's New Year's Eve Party. As Hannah is spending the night at his parents' house, Kevin invites Nicole, Matt, and Sarah over to his house to celebrate the new year. Sarah and Nicole secretly watch Matt if he drinks or stays sober (he ends up staying sober!). Meanwhile, Sarah meets and somewhat falls for Kevin's friend, Danny (Dax Shepherd) at Kevin's NYE Bash.
Ep20: Snowstorm Of A Lifetime:
The Burke family is stuck in a crowded parking garage during a blizzard. The family is gathered in the family's minivan, while they sit and share flashbacks to: Sarah's First Date, Nicole's Senior Prom, Matt's High School Graduation Day, Randy and Karen's Wedding Day, Randy's 40th Birthday Party, Karen's 40th Birthday Party, and more Burke family memories.
