Before we get to that, I will congratulate Casey Kasem on his 73rd birthday. :birthday: Casey Kasem!!! In the meantime. Those song were great in 1974. Marvin Hamilisch did "The Entertainer" from the movie "The Sting". I have the record of that. The #2 record on that AT40 survey was the theme from "Soul Train" called "TSOP" by MFSB featuring the Three Degeees. The ex-Beatle songs. One was "Band on the Run" by Paul McCartney and "oh My My" by Ringo Starr. "You Make Me Feel Brand New" was a classic by the Stylistics. I have that song from the album "Rockin' Roll Baby". The same exact song was also from the album "Let's Put It All Together". That album was produced by Hugo Perretti & Luigi Creatmore. Better known as Hugo & Luigi after the departing Thom Bell. Hugo & Luigi produced many of their songs from their years at RCA like Sam Cooke, Perry Como and those other ones including their chorus and orchestra from back in the 60's. They worked for a short time at Roulette before they went to AVCO/Embassy to do song by the Stylistics including arranger Van McCoy, who enjoyed his success with "The Hustle". In any rate, those song were great back then. I'll post on the WABC survey from 1974 later.
