View Full Version : Lindsay Lohan lipsyncing
Hollow 04-25-2005, 06:41 PM http://www.big-boys.com/articles/lindsaylip.html
regardless of the CD messing up in the middle of it and lindsay zoning out a little and snapping back into reality as soon as her voice comes back on, that's not what a live voice sounds like. it's clearly a studio edited version playing. i don't think she had those digital enhancements built into her vocal chords. also notice about a fourth of the way through that her mouth opens for the word "fun" almost a whole count after it's said. the very last line is the same way.
EmoJoe 04-25-2005, 07:49 PM I'm not surprised
robyrob 04-25-2005, 08:14 PM did anyone actually expect her to sing live? well? at ALL?
David 04-25-2005, 08:20 PM she's not the only one.
Superstar 04-30-2005, 03:03 AM who cares? Most singers do it. Its not a big deal.
vienna waits 04-30-2005, 08:31 AM i love how its the end of the world when ashlee did it but no one cares with lindsay.
Courtnee 04-30-2005, 08:37 AM i love how its the end of the world when ashlee did it but no one cares with lindsay.
Yeah,I wonder why that is......
Belair 04-30-2005, 09:03 AM Not surprised one bit.Shes got no talent.
TripperFan 04-30-2005, 10:31 AM So many of them today don't have any talent!!
It's incredible how these models are crossing over as actresses, then singers, the back to acting. Just because you're pretty doesn't mean you can act, and just because you can act, doesn't mean you can sing well also. I don't know where this trend came from but its really getting annoying!
MaydayMalonesGirl 04-30-2005, 12:46 PM who cares? Most singers do it. Its not a big deal.
Just because a lot of singers do it doesn't make it right. I hate the music industry.
theanswerman 04-30-2005, 01:22 PM this just makes me feel so much better because when i go to a concert its actually worht spending money on...because they preform live.
Superstar 04-30-2005, 01:47 PM Just because a lot of singers do it doesn't make it right. I hate the music industry.
I never said it was right. I'm just saying that its so common now, people shouldn't make such a big deal out of it.
Dean Winchester 04-30-2005, 02:35 PM Just because a lot of singers do it doesn't make it right. I hate the music industry.
I agree.
It's funny that when Milli Vanilli were exposed 15 years ago, it was the death of their career. Yet if this happened today, people would probably still defend them.
SpunkiiMonkii7078 04-30-2005, 06:59 PM I could care less about lip synching. Almost every music star has done this in some point in time. Why does it even matter if Lindsay messed up performing when you weren't even there?
If you listen to her CD (Which I don't own), she obviously had to sing in some way, not lip sync to get her voice there. At least she wants to do this, and is really attempting to do her best by doing an album.

yes, she may sing in the studio...but i'm sure that the producer edits a lot out that sounds like ****
TheGreatPretender 04-30-2005, 07:16 PM No lip- syncing incident could hold a candle to Milli Vinilli.
Girl you know it's girl you know it's girl you know its.
Dean Winchester 04-30-2005, 07:18 PM I seriously wonder if Milli Vanilli had happened today instead of 1990, the all-too-forgiving music fans would be all "we still love Rob And Fab even if they don't sing", it seems to be the way people have forgiven Ashlee and now Lindsey. Of course, Rob Pilatus may also not have committed suicide over depression that stemmed from the backlash when MV were outted.

lol. I remember being so shocked when they were exposed as lipsynchers. I could not believe it, even tho it's kinda funny I didn't notice it all along considering how thick Fab and Rob's speaking accents were compared to their "singing" voices. How would Fab have such a thick accent when talking and suddenly when it came to rapping, his English was dead-on, lol
TheGreatPretender 04-30-2005, 07:24 PM Oh god people I just watched it. She was "caught" lyp-syncing the moment the song began. It's obvious it's the CD song. Any dumbass could tell.

I said she sang in some way at the studio. That doesn't mean good. LOL. At least she's trying to do good by singing. It's not like her music is a way of protesting or getting at someone. Hopefully someone will get enjoyment out of it.
Jessica
Hollow 04-30-2005, 08:05 PM who cares? Most singers do it. Its not a big deal.
"Most" singers don't do it. it's flat-out lying to the fans and it shows how weak they are.

Why would i have to BE there? i'm thoroughly against actresses with no singing skills becoming singers just because they're already popular. further reasoning why lindsay is a pathetic "musician" and isn't real. i know she's not the first one to do it. i found that clip interesting merely because it's so obvious she isn't singing it. if it looked real i wouldn't really care.
if course she sang on her album (which is more than milli vanilli can say) but her voice is altered with electronic effects.
TheGreatPretender 04-30-2005, 08:32 PM if course she sang on her album (which is more than milli vanilli can say) but her voice is altered with electronic effects.
I know just about anyone can do that nowadays.

Okay... so what you are saying is that someone doesn't have to actually have any kind of singing ability in order to be a singer? Maybe it's just me, but that is completely ridiculous.
Superstar 05-01-2005, 05:09 AM "Most" singers don't do it. it's flat-out lying to the fans and it shows how weak they are.
whatever.
Dean Winchester 05-01-2005, 01:34 PM whatever.
why do you say "whatever"? After the Milli Vanilli fiasco, a lot of artists who were accused of possibly lipsynching went to shows like Arsenio Hall or MTV to sing acapella, proving that it is in fact their vocals on the songs you hear.
Has the music industry really gone that far into hell since?
Courtnee 05-01-2005, 02:39 PM Oh god people I just watched it. She was "caught" lyp-syncing the moment the song began. It's obvious it's the CD song. Any dumbass could tell.
yeah i know
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 05-01-2005, 02:43 PM Stick to acting Lindsay. Jesus Christ how come all of these teenies think as soon as they hit it big with acting they have to come out with a ****ing CD?

I don't think any of them will have a long term music career.
I can see in 5 years, people will be annoying their friends with "look what cd I used to love and still have" and playing Hilary, Lindsay, etc... the way I have friends who do the same thing with LFO and Eiffel 65 today

Ah, so true. Still, while they're still famous, it's annoying and unbearable. I suppose we can only suffer for that amount of time...
TheHappyBurgerMeister 05-01-2005, 09:27 PM The thing with Milli Vanilli was it wasn't just lipsyncing, but the track playing was NOT them singing. So, they did not sing at all!
With other artists lip syncing nowaways it IS them on the back-up track singing.
There's a big difference right there. But still, either way is wrong.
MsOrange 05-01-2005, 10:46 PM Not surprised one bit.Shes got no talent.
she's got a bra size full of talent

No, no. I didn't mean that at all. No offence to Lindsay fans but I personsally think she is a sucky singer. She's a great actress... but a singer... no.
The only reason Lindsay was able to get in the music business is because she has connections probably. She has no talent (singing wise), but because it's Lindsay, everyone asumes she will do great.
I have nothing against Lindsay or anything, it's just I don't care for her music or her voice. What I'm trying to say is some little girl probably worships Lindsay (Why, I don't know) and enjoys her. You should never really diss music is my opinion. What if someone said your favorite singer or band had no talent?
As long as the music keeps someone entertained, I see no harm in it. I know Lindsay has NO talent, but apparently some people think she must. It's better for kids to listen to her than to Marilyn Manson or someone like that anyways.
Jessica
MissZero 05-03-2005, 10:00 PM I agree.

okay, so if you pay 50+ dollars to go see Raven in concert, and she didn't sing live, would you be dissapointed?
I would.

i'm almost ashamed to be living in this generation of the garbage some people refer to as music.

I totally agree with you. I'm never going to see Ashlee Simpson in concert, I'll tell you that.

I know technology makes things easier these days. Producers and musicians think they can just edit a voice and stick cheesy background music behind it and call it music.

Apparently it's every teenage actress' thing :)
