Seems like he's more self centered then ever. angel676 10-12-2001, 05:48 AM I've read a few posts about Kirk Cameron being selfish, self centered and something about being spiritual. I don't really keep up to date about Kirk Cameron, so can someone tell me what's going on with Kirk? Mcfly 10-16-2001, 04:23 PM Well, Angel, it was hard to find out about Cameron on the E! story cuz I was a huge fan of Mike Seaver. But I won't look at the episodes the same anymore after what producers and the cast said. Apparently as the 89-90 season started, he returned to work a changed person. Having discovered religion, he essentially became a G-rated goodboy who demanded more wholesome images of Mike's (and the other characters for that matter) life. Reportedly saying "I don't want the audience to get the impression Mike is sleeping with Julie, they aren't married!" And then calling for Julie McCulloughs termination because of her history with Playboy which he thought would cast a bad image on him. Then after a dispute with producers, he called ABC execs in the middle of the night and called GP producers "pornographers" in an attempt to get them fired. So, with all that said he really tarnished my image of him, which is sad, seeing how many great memories he gave me as Mike. greyskymorning 11-24-2001, 11:55 PM I would like to say on Kirk's side, that unless you were there yourself, its kind of hard to really know what happened...plus, i agree with him not wanting to give people the impression that he was sleeping with Julie before marriage... Kimberly 11-25-2001, 12:59 PM Compared to all the other teen stars that ended up on drugs, in jail, or dead (Todd Bridges, Willie Aames, Leif Garrett, River Pheonix, etc...), Kirk's strong moral convictions aren't all that bad. Oh and by the way, he was pretty incredible to look at, which certainly didn't hurt the ratings -especially among young girls. The show would have been over in a day without him. bonbon 01-19-2002, 02:17 PM I think that it's good that he didn't want people to think that he was sleeping with his girlfriend. Those kinds of things make the show seem cheap. I'm glad he stood up for what he believed, rather than become a puppet of someone else. If he was rude, then that's another thing. Everything should be done with tact. And he should have invited the cast to the wedding, but maybe he wanted only a small family gathering. Pitooey 01-19-2002, 10:20 PM It is very rare in Hollywood when you see a young man take a stand like that! I applaud him! :D |
