While searching through google.com, I came upon a new article concerning the October 1987 murder of a New Hampshire resident named Alene "Lulu" Courchesne. According to the new article (dated April 25, 2005), two men have come forward, claiming to have information the could help solve the case.

For those who remember the UM segment about the case (which aired in 1992), you will recall that Richard McCue was tried and convicted of Courchesne's murder, but he maintained his innocence. Other people were looked into as potential suspects, including Lulu's friend Russell Healey, who died in 1991. Some believe that Healey was involved in the murder, although he denied it (even at his deathbed). In early 1993, not long after the UM segment originally aired, McCue won a retrial, and was acquitted.

No one else was ever charged with the murder, and the two men did not want to be publicly identified because they fear for their safety. Although they don't want to publicly say who they think was involved in the murder, they said they don't believe it was Russell Healey.

We will have to wait and see what happens. Let's hope for the best.

Were you watching Unsolved Mysteries in 1992 and/or 1993? The segment aired during the 1992-93 season. Also, how old were you in 1987?

Although I live in Massachusetts, there are some criminal cases from the state that I didn't know about until after they were featured on UM (such as the 1994 murder of David Cox). The common reason for me was that some of the cases were from an area that was distant from my place of residence (I live near Boston). Also, some of the cases may not have been generally high-profile (outside the town or jurisdiction where they took place).

Yes, I've been watching UM pretty much since day one, but I'm sure I've missed a few episodes here and there. I'm not very good with names but I'm sure if I saw the episode, I may remember. In 1987 I was 18 and living in Mass. There was also an episode that took place in Hooksett, NH ( which is two towns over from me ) about some guy that was shot while he was working on his tractor. I also don't remember that being big news around here, but I could be wrong. I didn't hear about it until I saw it on UM.

I do have an opinion as to who did it. I would rather not say on the computer. I missed both of the Unsolved shows on it...but I was at the trial and things did not add up.
