View Full Version : Enjoy the game shows now, PAX goes all 'infomercials' all the time June 30 or July 1
bossradio93 04-25-2005, 10:42 AM It seems likely that the PAX network, that tried so hard to re-create the magic of the 'good ol' days' of broadcast television and its game shows will be scrapped in favor of "All 'infomercials', all the time" as of either June 30, or July 1. That means infomercials virtually 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Enjoy the game shows while you can before the sad changeover on either of those dates. :(
What are your thoughts, comments?
Brent88 04-25-2005, 10:45 AM Not surprised... all the PAX stations I've ever had were TERRIBLE quality(lines in the picture or just real fuzzy).
Brian Damage 04-25-2005, 10:49 AM An all informercial channel? Talk about unimaginative.
James"Thunder"Early 04-25-2005, 11:10 AM It's pointless they'd be better off selling off their stations and assets. NBC Universal is protesting it.
TV DVD Fan 04-25-2005, 04:11 PM ... theres a jawbreaker for you! what, pax is like the number 1 television station in the world or something, wasn't it?
pat
musicradio77 04-25-2005, 04:48 PM The two game shows that I missed on PAX was "Supermarket Sweep" and the revived "Beat the Clock". It's so sad to see them go.http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif GSN will soon have a place to put game shows that were used to be on PAX. What will they called it, the Infomercial Channel. All infomercials, all the time!
I wish that the infomercials that they were shown is on RNN. They're going to compete with the former PAX. Not sure as of yet.
rodwayne 04-25-2005, 05:00 PM So;they decideded to quit while they're ahead(or behind). It's figures! Not that PAX has been a wham-bam network to start with. :sleep2: Now after all of this time,NOW they are throwing in the tower. Can they called themsleves a network if all they going to do is show informericals?!? Well, one down, and about two more to go(UPN and WB)if they don't get their act together!!!
bossradio93 04-25-2005, 09:33 PM It's pointless they'd be better off selling off their stations and assets. NBC Universal is protesting it.
Yes, since NBC owns a 32-1/2% percent stake in the network and is to consider suing to prevent the changeover.
Mr. Television 04-27-2005, 03:38 PM My PAX Station runs mostly informercials now.
TV DVD Fan 04-28-2005, 02:56 PM ... my PAX is only airing regular programming for 7 hours a day currently, so it wont make much of a difference anyway.
the hours of programming are 5-12 pm/am starting with James Arness in "Bonanza."
everyone now,
"We've got a right to pick a little fight, Bonanza!"
pat
rodwayne 04-29-2005, 02:43 PM TV DVD Fan:James Arness never started on Bonanza(unless he did a guest staring role on it).Lorrne Greenwas the star of the show!
TV DVD Fan 04-29-2005, 04:30 PM ... wrong western.
pat
Corizzle 04-30-2005, 11:23 AM PAX is a network I wish I got more, I can only get it at my cottage with rabbit ears. The shows I loved to watch is Supermarket Sweep & especially Early Edition. I hope someone else picks Early Edition up(preferibly someone who airs in Canada)
Melonhead00 08-17-2005, 01:14 AM Guys, guys, guys! Calm down, PAX is now I--Indepedent Television--as of 01 July 2005 @ 00.00/12.00midnight ET.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot
If anyone here watches I, say "I" (Everybody: "I!")
Harper49 08-25-2005, 05:57 PM But maybe I'm guessing September for The Best of 80s and 90s Game Shows (http://tbgs.flashgameshows.com/) to bring it back.
