Two Sisters

This sitcom is about a 25 year old young woman living in her Chicago apartment, who invites her 17 year old sister to move in with her, as their globaltrotting parents plan to take a 10 month European Trip with another couple. Sarah Lancaster plays the 25 year old Madison Van Lanen, who is a make-up artist for the famous Chicago TV talk show, "Wake Up Chicago". Madison's teenage sister, Ashley Van Lanen (Sara Paxton) is a junior in high school. Madison takes Ashley under her wing as their always-traveling-never-home parents take off once again. Madison decides to attempt to give Ashley the homelife she deserves. Madison's co-workers and friends include: the fashion-guru talk show host-Hailey (Mariah Carey), and the fun and friendly cameraman-Mark (Dax Shepperd). Ashley soon makes friends within the first week of her next school. Ashley's friends include: the sporty yet sensitive-Erika (Brie Larsen), the wise and gifted-London (Brenda Song), and the sarcastic drama queen-Perla (Scarlett Pomers). The sisters' world-traveling parents (Jake and Betsy Van Lanen) make their appearances several times throughtout the show.

Episodes

Ep1: Pilot Episode:
Ashley moves and gets settled in with Madison, as their parents (Jake and Betsy head off to their 10 month European trip). Madison and Ashley bond once again after not seeing each other for the past 2 months.

Ep2: The Work Thing:
Madison's work is having a party to celebrate their talk show's 5th anniversary. Madison invites Ashley along as her guest. Madison introduces Ashley to her co-workers (and friends): the host of the show (Hailey) and the cameraman (Mark). The four of them 'stick together' as they get a kick out of their divorce-happy boss, Sheila (Marlo Thomas) who now has had too much to drink.

Ep3: New School:
Ashley begins her first day at her new school-Kennedy High School. Ashley is befriended by a trio of girls (Erika, London, and Perla). Ashley is shown around the school and around Chicago by her new friends.

Ep4: Just Hanging Out:
Madison decides to go out with Mark and Hailey for drinks, as Ashley decides to have London, Perla, and Erika come over and hangout. Madison comes home a little tipsy to Ashley and her friends. Madison is furious (mostly due to the alcohol) because Ashley never asked to have people over. Madison kicks the three girls out. An upset Ashley leaves with her friends, leaving Madison feeling even more angered. Madison sleeps it off, and the next morning she finds Ashley sleeping on the couch. They make up.

Ep5: Up For More:
Madison is up for a raise. Madison works up the courage to ask Sheila (Marlo Thomas) for a raise. Sheila surprises Madison by giving her a two dollar raise if she can get Hailey to go out with her son, Pete (Christopher Masterson). Hailey reluctant go out with Pete, much to her dismay. After the date, Hailey has some "dirt" on Sheila, which she shares with Madison and Mark graciously.

Ep6: Big, Bad Teacher:
Ashley and Perla are forced to deal with the mean, uptight yet handsome History teacher, Mr. Washburne (David Duchvony). He assigns the two girls to each write a 5-page essay on the American Revolution, because they were talking during class. Ashley and Perla refuse to write their essays, and are given detentions as result.

Ep7: The Ex-Girlfriend:
Mark's ex-girlfriend, Lydia (Reese Witherspoon) pays a visit. Mark decides to make Lydia jealous by having Madison pretend to be his current girlfriend around Lydia. Hailey becomes jealous instead, as Mark has chosen Madison over her. Erika's crush has his eyes on London, causing a rift between the girls. Ashley and Perla play peacemakers and successfully make peace between Erika and London.

Ep8: The Blank Check:
London's semi-wealthy parents give London a blank check to cover her homecoming dress. London decides to take advantage of the blank check by taking Erika, Perla, and Ashley along with her to go shopping. The girls are bumped into by London's mom and aunt, who decide to go shopping with the girls and decides to take back the blank check. Leaving the girls to cancel their plans of going-wild.

Ep9: Boy Troubles:
London and Erika already have dates for Homecoming Dance. Ashley gets asked by the quarterback of the football team. Perla reluctant gives in to a somewhat pushy and slightly annoying guy who has been after her to go to the homecoming with for weeks now. Hailey is dumped by her current boyfriend, causing her and Madison to go out to a club to take her mind off her ex.

Ep10: Halloween 2005:
Erika, Ashley, Perla, and London go to the high school-which they have transformed into a haunted house. Perla and Erika are separated from London and Ashley. Meanwhile, Madison, Hailey, Mark, and other co-workers are invited to Sheila's costume party. Hailey tries her best to avoid Sheila's son, Pete (who thinks they are boyfriend-girlfriend now).

Ep11: Attack Of The Flu:
Madison and Ashley are stricken with the flu. Loyal Hailey and Mark offer to take care of the sick sisters, until they also become sick. Perla auditions for the female lead, Sandy, in the school play, Grease. Perla encourages Erika and London to tryout for the play with her, as they do. Perla gets the lead role as "Sandy". London and Erika are not casted.
