Not sure if it's in every guide around the country, but the back of the new TV Guide here in NYC has an ad for a new TV on DVD club from Columbia House. Get 1 free set when you buy a set for $19.95, then by four more sets at regular club prices (whatever they are) in the next two years. They also have the offer where you pick your first selection now for $19.95 so then you'll only have three more to buy in two years.

It seems like a decent deal, I'll have to explore it some more. I'd give their online address but I won't just in case that's considered spam-like. I just thought you guys might be interested.

It's on the back of mine down here... got it in the mail today.

It looks like a decent deal to me as well.

I saw that awhile back but for some reason I thought it too good to be true, I wonder if it's sets like we'd get from amazon.com or in stores or if it's a different kind of sets they got just for Columbia House?

They might not have everything but they do have titles from other studios in the ad: Wonder Woman, C.S.I., Smallville, 21 Jump Street, Homicide, Freaks and Geeks, etc. in addition to the Sony titles (Who's The Boss, Diff'rent Strokes, etc.) I just recently resubscribed to TV Guide, so this is the first I've seen of this club. I guess it's been around for a short time already?

I'm probably one of the biggest TV geeks in the world.... yet I don't subscribe to TVGuide. I have a few (ones I'll buy in the store if its for a certain show).... but I want to subscribe.

I had heard of a similar deal from them before... several years ago. It was as a page inside the TV Guide.

My dad said... "You can get TV listings online"

There's just something about reading a magazine that is cool.

I'd want it more for the articles and stuff. But again.... you can read those online too.

Columbia House charges too much for most of their stuff. I got the Powerpuff Girls DVDs, the same ones that were being sold in stores, and they charged me more for them than I would have spent in a lot of stores or on amazon. Plus their customer service is TERRIBLE.
