I am kinda weary to believe it.. tell me what you think. http://67.18.222.146/cnn.htm James"Thunder"Early 04-20-2005, 04:10 PM Hoax I saw this somewhere else if it was true it'd be all over the news. Dutabi84 04-20-2005, 04:12 PM Pfff, c'mon. Look at the ridiculous URL. Max Whittaker 04-20-2005, 04:13 PM   Faith 04-20-2005, 04:13 PM Pfff, c'mon. Look at the ridiculous URL. Thats what I thought. #1_Nancy_McKeon 04-20-2005, 04:20 PM Go to that link and then scroll down to the "Top Stories" at the bottom. It let's you know that it's a hoax. G-Force Glockstar 04-20-2005, 04:32 PM What the heck? Penny Lane 04-20-2005, 08:21 PM LOL Jim Morrison(The Doors) died in 1971 and there are still stories circulating that he faked his death and is still living somewhere in France! The same stories are still going on about Elvis and President John F. Kennedy. Brent88 04-20-2005, 08:25 PM Hoax. Don't ya just love photoshopping? Or maybe CNN really put that there. They DID afterall post that VP Cheney died in 2001, only a few months after taking office. I'll never forget that. Chelsea 04-20-2005, 08:47 PM Hoax: 1)CNN.com official URLs have rather long, specific URLs for each story: Ex: http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/space/04/20/space.shuttle/index.html 2)The URL here leads to an IP Address, with the FILENAME of CNN.html 3)The page in question is hosted by a provider called theplanet.com, while CNN can be found on AOL's Data Transit service. [Thank you tracert] 4)Thanks to a sloppy edit of CNN's template, the LAW section doesn't link over to CNN's law page, while the rest of the links link over to working CNN.com pages 5/Finally)Scroll down to "Top Stories" near the bottom of the page...Notice stories 2 and 3: • You just got April Fooled! • Tupac's dead. Get over it. Thanks for playing Hollow 04-20-2005, 10:43 PM You want a hoax site? http://www.freewebs.com/govwebsites/ ****ing self-explanatory. how are we supposed to believe a government site is official if it has "This site built and hosted for free by FreeWebs.com. Get your own free website now!" at the bottom. someone needs to tell that person that typing in all capitals doesn't make it look all professional and real. there are several spelling and hyperlink mistakes throughout the site too. last but not least, posting a bunch of dancing smileys and a graphic of bush flipping the bird as a decoration isn't the brightest idea if you want people to take your site seriously. some idiot made a bunch of threads here several days ago advertising it. |
