I don't think we'll be seeing "Homeboy's in Outer Space: The Complete Series" any time soon

The shows that have to get music rights like WKRP may take longer but they'll probably be released someday.

Route 66.

Especially the newer one. I mean, 4 episodes for something that had Dan Cortese in it. Boy, I bet that would fly off the shelves.

I don't think we'll see Small Wonder due to it's multiple ownership rights. I hope to be proven wrong.

I heard that unfortunately, some older shows may never come to DVD :( because the films are in such bad shape.

At this rate, there's a better chance "Hope and Faith" will come out on DVD before "Hill Street Blues", which is a shame. :(

How many companies have the rights and which companies are they? I mean, I loved Small Wonder even though it was totally impossible.

It had 3 companies jointly own it... don't know which, but they all financed the shows production etc. The SW section of this board might know.

the way Sony is going (releasing bombs like Tabitha and Ned and Stacey beforehand), by the time we get to see Facts Of Life on DVD, I'm gonna be 90 years old

I hope you're wrong about the ownership for Small Wonder. I know that multiple production companies may have worked on the show in the 80s, but I thought Fox had sole ownership of the series today?

From "The Small Wonder Mirror"...

7. Who owns Small Wonder?

Originally Small Wonder's creator, Metromedia Producers (check out our "Series Background" feature). When 20th Century Fox acquired Metromedia in 1986 to break into TV network building, it got Small Wonder as part of the acquisition, meaning that Small Wonder--not Married...with Children--was Fox's first sitcom. It's most likely that Small Wonder's success in pioneering non-network produced shows hastened Fox's hand.

Even if you're right about the multiple owners, hopefully we'll still see the show released on DVD sometime in the future. I once sent an e-mail to Shout! Factory asking that they license and release Small Wonder on DVD, and they told me that they had received several other requests for the show, so the demand is there. I could definitely see Shout! Factory or Anchor Bay releasing the show on DVD, but not necessarily Fox themselves. Hopefully some deal could be worked out, in any case...

I am doubtful about The Wonder Years and seasons 2 on of Malcolm in the Middle due to music problems...

Well, I don't think we'll ever see season sets of Designing Women. I'm guessing the "Best of" DVD didn't sell too well.

I read on some site just now that the rights are split between Fox and two other unnamed companies (they say that the one of the two MIGHT be MGM). I wonder who the third company might be? And about The Wonder Years rights: Does Fox own it entirely now or does Warner and/or Sony still have some rights to it?

according to the site

www.wouldyoubelieve.com

"Get Smart" is being considered for release on DVD. CONSIDERED that doesn't nessecarly mean it will be coming out. More information, including a link for a petion to sign for it, can be found at the website that I posted above.
