For us older people here that have graduated from high school. I was
wondering if any of you ever write to your former teachers. You may think
it's uncool but I have no shame doing it. I just ask how their doing and stuff.
I also do it when I have problems and have no one to talk to. I write about
my problems but ask them to keep them a secret. Sometimes I feel like I'll
bring a tear or two to their eyes .Don't worry I guys. I haven't told any of
them that I feel depressed or suicidal. I just write down the sources of
my problems hoping that will make them go away. :)

i'd want to write to my 5th/6th grade teacher and really let her have it. i was too shy at the time to show that i knew she was treating me unfairly and hated her, and it's time for her to pay. i'd do the same for my 7th grade teacher, but that's ok because by that time i'd learned not to take **** and i made it damn clear that i hated her. though it would be nice to let her know i still don't have any more respect for her than i ever did.

I had a teacher in 6th grade that I was really close to. We still email each other and send Christmas cards to each other and stuff.

I do! :) I still talk to my preschool teachers, as a matter of fact. Another big one is my kindergarten teacher - I actually just emailed her the other day because I wanted to get together with her sometime over the weekend soon. She also wants me to come in to meet her students... I am hearing impaired, so she learned sign language from me when I was in her class and in turn she has taught her students sign language. It will be after I finish my semester in college in early May - I can't wait! :D

I also still talk to my eighth grade English teacher...we were really close and I miss her dearly. I haven't talked to her in a while, though...She's busy and I'm busy. I also talk to like two of my high school teachers...that's about it.

The other day I emailed my Biology teacher. It was weird because I didn't
expect to get a good email.Because I thought she hated me all this time
because I gave her hell when I had her.Talking back, not doing my work
and stuff. But I was surprised that she emailed me back and told
me to keep in touch with her . :)

I used to write to my fifth grade teacher, but we lost touch. Now that there's MySpace, I'll probably keep in touch with more (Two of them are my friends).

I'm not really in contact with my former teachers. There's one lady I'd like to catch up with though, she was a real friend to me,even if she was only my teacher.

I still talk to my middle school teachers. I see them a lot as well, because I go up for all the concerts, and help with the spring musical every year.

Back when I was working I used to talk to my 9th grade World Geography teacher alot. She was always cool.

I tried to get in touch with one of my middle school teachers a few years ago but I don't think she remembered me because I never got a response from her. I was kind of bummed about it because she was my favorite teacher I ever had but she's taught thousands of kids over the years so I guess it was kind of unrealistic of me to expect her to remember who I was.

There is nothing I have to say to any of my "official" teachers. At least, nothing that would be acceptable language.

There are others who taught me along the road of life without any hope of getting paid. I would be happy to remember them in an occasional letter.

I really don't even know where any of my former teachers are anymore.

I was never close enough to any of my teachers to even care about writing them. Though I still have the personalized plate that my 9th grade algebra teacher inspired.

I was close to my high school math teacher back then. But she now lives
in a different state.I wish I would've gotten to say goodbye to her.She
helped through so much.I really miss her though. :(

I keep in contact with several of my high school teachers, and a few from Junior High (mostly because my mom now works there).

But as for grade school, no. I went back to the school one time on a weekend when I flew in the weekend to see and old friend and found that a couple of my old teachers were still there.

I havent graduated from HS yet, but I will be in 2006, but yes, I write to my former teachers, but ONLY to my elementary school teachers. (My JHS & HS teachers are bums, haha!) I am closest with my 5th grade teacher, tho. I've recently told her about my eating disorder, and she & I are currently working on that.... trying to figure out some way to help me recover. Progress is slow, tho. :(

I like to keep in touch with my teachers from my alma mater.

My 3rd grade teacher called our house in December after she recognized my sister on Jeopardy. She's my favorite teacher of all time. I only had two decent school years in elementary school (3rd and 5th grade) and she was by far the best.

Being from a small town I run into a lot of my high school teachers all of the time! But unfortunately, most of my elementary teachers are dead. Except for my Kindergarten teacher who has to be about 98 by now! She was a teacher when my dad was in high school in the 1940's! My second grade teacher died last year at the age of 101.

When I was in elementary school in the 1950's all of the teachers were in their 50's or older. Some of them looked much much older than 50!

:bighug: Thanks, Dannie. *sniffles*

But it IS truly slow. I haven't even been to a therapist yet. She's trying to convince me that my parents must know, but I am refusing, so nothing has happened. :(

One day I called one of my teachers......... (Well he was really a therapist we could talk to) and he didnt like I had his number........ For about a month I say he kept hanging up on me when I called... Finally 1 day he was waiting for another call I guess (Thats what he told me) and he didnt wanna be tying the phone up with me so he started being nice to me...

This was probably 20 years ago or more now....... Then I recently in the last few years called my teacher I had at BOCES but she didnt want me calling her......

Poeple are very mean and cold.... Why bother trying to be nice??

i am in the same situation. small town, older teachers. 2 died while I was in their classes. My kindergarden teacher just died about 2 months ago in her mid 90's the last of my grammar school teachers. In high school the home econmics teacher had my mother 40 some odd years earlier. Now I am pushing 70, little chance many teachers are alive.
