View Full Version : Adriana's death
Justfuhgetaboutit 04-19-2005, 08:37 PM You know when she got whacked in "Long Term Parking" I could hardly bare it. I mean throughout the whole series she was such a sweetheart I got attached to her. Sometimes when I think of that scene I sometimes feel like I can't breath like maybe I might be having a panic attack myself. I know it's just a tv show but it's like she was such a sweetheart through the whole series I got attached to her and it was sad to see her go... :(
hoosierelvisfan 04-19-2005, 08:55 PM Well, not to get anyone's hopes up but technically they didn't SHOW Adriana getting killed, did they?????? I mean they showed the gun going off and you saw Adriana's feet and legs as she's falling but that's all . . . . I know the impression is definitely that she got killed but when that episode aired there was a LOT of speculation that she MIGHT not be dead. I know what you mean about getting attached to Ade. She was great, I thought.

Justfuhgetaboutit 04-19-2005, 09:02 PM Yea I don't even remember them showing her feet I just remember Sylvio's gunshot sounds.
EdBrownJr 04-20-2005, 04:19 PM They didnt show her feet.....
She is really dead.....those theories about not seeing her being shot where just rumors....David Chase said he did not show her getting shot because he wanted to do it tastefully. It was a hard thing to do but everyone knew eventually this was going to happen.....so they decided to shoot the scene that way because she was a respected and loveable character.
also if she wasnt then the scene with Tony and Chris at the Bada Bing wouldnt make sense......
Justfuhgetaboutit 04-20-2005, 08:25 PM See that's the thing that makes it more hurtful to see, the fact that it had to be done. I mean Ad didn't stand a chance. I think what makes it worse too is that I think theres something in my mind that triggers when I think about or see that scene like whenever I see that part it's like all these slow paced sad songs start playing in my head. Like "Linger" by the Cranberries and "Dreams" by the Cranberries. I don't know if you guys saw the movie Hook or not with Robin Williams but the music that they play when it shows Williams underwater with the mermaids like the sound of girls in a chorus starts playing in my head too.
Hey this is the 500th post!
hoosierelvisfan 04-21-2005, 01:37 PM I had only saw that final episode once and it's been a while so I was trying to describe the scene from memory. So sorry about thinking it showed her feet. Well, it will be interesting to see in the next season what happens to Christopher. i.e., will Christopher be more unbalanced/unstable as a result of Ade being gone??????

Justfuhgetaboutit 04-21-2005, 09:29 PM You know what you bring up a good point. Christopher even though he's hot tempered and sometimes abused her, I think he really loved Ad and he cared about her. So in season 6 he might end up becoming depressed like how Tony was for a while and may become unbalanced and have a strong Heroine addiction again, you never know. Cause In the same episode she got whacked in was when Chris told Tony at Satriales I think "Alright look, I snorted some H." So he might have a full scale heroine addiction again like he did in season 4, which might get him and maybe Tony in a lot of trouble in season 6.
hoosierelvisfan 04-22-2005, 08:57 AM Yeah, a lot of unanswered questions will make the next season VERY INTERESTING, as they used to say on "Laugh In". Anyway, I can't imagine that Christopher wasn't affected by Adriana being killed. They would have to show him torn in his feelings. On one hand, knowing that she "flipped" for the FBI and on the other, despite that knowledge, knowing that he loved her. So I can't imagine that after all that time together, they would just write her off that quickly and not have it affect Christopher greatly. On the other hand, I think that this season depends a lot on if they choose to do one more season or not. In other words, if this is going to be the last season, they will have to tie up all the loose ends now but if they will choose to do one more season, then that will give them more time to work with.

Justfuhgetaboutit 04-22-2005, 03:33 PM Yea that's true. That would be awesome if they made a 7th season.
Justfuhgetaboutit 10-06-2005, 06:11 PM You know now that I think about her, Ad was a sweet woman, but in some ways I think she was like Carmella because she took advantage of the money and good Chris got for her but then as soon as the law got involved she was all depressed and everything. I'm not saying I don't like her Im just saying.
Justfuhgetaboutit 12-08-2005, 08:19 PM Oh I was watching tv last night, and her death made the 100 most suprising moments on tv or something like that.
Brian Damage 12-09-2005, 12:19 PM Adrianna was a great character and real easy on the eyes, but she had to die. She was a rat, just like Big Puss.
Justfuhgetaboutit 12-10-2005, 04:05 PM Yea that's how the business works when someone's an informant, they get whacked no matter what sex they or how old they are.
Brian Damage 12-10-2005, 04:27 PM Yep
Dr. Thong 12-10-2005, 07:52 PM You know when she got whacked in "Long Term Parking" I could hardly bear it. I mean throughout the whole series she was such a sweetheart I got attached to her.
I liked the character, but I would hardly call Adriana a "sweetheart." She was a coke-snorting, materialistic type. When Christopher got out of rehab, she kept wine in the house and drank it front of him. Anyone truly supportive of someone trying to stay clean and sober would have emptied the house of alcohol and not drank it in front of him.
Now, don't think that I'm on Christopher's side, either - he was a whiny, heroin-addicted little weasel. I think he took the coward's way out. Although it wasn't shown, he had to have told Tony about her snooping for the feds, because Tony wouldn't have had her killed otherwise.
Besides, if you really miss her - just watch Drea DeMatteo as an annoying stereotype slut on Joey.
Just my two cents...:D ;)
hoosierelvisfan 12-12-2005, 09:11 AM That's one of the things about the Sopranos that makes it so addictive to watch. i.e., there's such a wide range of emotions that a viewer has to deal with while "getting to know" each character. e.g., on one hand, you get to love the characters because they are human and they show their habits or their little quirks but on the other hand, you have to step back and realize these are some real scum-bags that you're watching. e.g., I love the character of "Paulie" because the actor plays him so well and you get to know Paulie's idiosyncracies (sp?) and you know how he will react to things, etc. But deep down, you know that Paulie Walnuts is really a total scumbag. That's the beauty of the Sopranos, IMHO, you get to know these characters so well that when you think about what scum-bags they are, it snaps you back to reality. Tony is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. We fans get to know him inside and out and in some ways we feel sorry for him but he uses people, he kills people, etc, etc. But on the other hand, you do see him wanting to be with Carmella but he still cheats on her, etc. This is what makes this show to be such an emotional rollercoaster. Even with characters like Carmella and Adriana. On one hand you feel sorry for them because their spouses cheat on them, etc. but on the other hand, they know exactly what's going on and they put up with it because they enjoy the money and the lifestyle as well.
