View Full Version : Survivor couple Rob and Amber marry in the Bahamas; CBS planning special
Brent88 04-18-2005, 02:26 PM LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) The "Survivor" and "Amazing Race" union known merely as "Romber" reportedly made things legal this weekend, filming a Bahamas wedding that CBS may air at the end of May.
According to the Beaver County Times, Amber Brkich and Rob Mariano were set to marry on Saturday (April 16), though nobody's saying anything on the record because all participants signed non-disclosure agreements for CBS. The wedding party departed for the Bahamas on Wednesday and the paper suggests that the wedding will be broadcast on CBS on Tuesday, May 24.
Because of those tight CBS contracts, its unclear whether any of the couple's reality television buddies were in attendance. The Times says that the bride-to-be held her shower on Saturday, March 5 at Seven Oaks Country Club in Ohioville, PA with CBS cameras in tow.
Brkich, 26, and Mariano, 29, became engaged during the finale of CBS' "Survivor: All-Stars," just minutes before Brkich beat Mariano to win the show's million dollar first prize. The couple parlayed that fame into a slot on CBS' "Amazing Race." Despite facing the wrath of the competing teams, Rob and Amber are among the teams remaining on the show, having already won trips to London and the French Riviera.
TripperFan 04-18-2005, 02:35 PM Good for them!!
I know they're hated by other team members on The Amazing Race, but hey -that's because they are such great competitors! I LOVE Rob!! Some of the ideas that guy comes up with are absolutely brilliant!!! He's made this season of Amazing Race really interesting!! It'll never be the same now. No more "nice guys"! It even surprises him at how gulible people can be! And he and Amber never seem to fight - they work well as a team together (hence their success). I see a tight relationship that should work.
Now that the couple from Houston are out, I really think they are the favorites to win (especially when earlier betting reports were coming out of Boston and L.A.). They sure racked up enough free trips for an incredible honeymoom.
Way to go and parlay your 15 minutes of fame! All the best to them!

Didn't they go? What am I thinking of? Was it a non-elimination for them?
My God, my reality shows are becoming a blur methinks!!!

No... the only non-elimination so far was for the old couple. They lost all of their belongings except the clothes on their back.

I agree. I'm watching AR because of them. And yeah, they seem to get along just fine. Which is good, because I'm sick of the couples that constantly bitch at each other (ie Ray and Deanna). They were just annoying.
But anyway, this'll be fun to see.

So that's why she bought a new bag. I missed that episode apparently.
TripperFan 04-19-2005, 03:16 PM Yeah - it was a surprise - rather than just taking their money, they took everything!! A another guy from another team helped out a bit by giving the old guy a shirt or two.

barwars 04-19-2005, 08:35 PM If nothing else is on, I'll watch. But this isn't something I'm really looking forward to. And I'm a big fan of The Amazing Race and I've never missed a Survivor episode since mid-way through the 1st season.
