Refresh my memory:Butch Patrick did an interview before The Munsters Season I DVD was released and said that there was an episode that was filmed, but was not sold as part of the original series Was this episode from Season 1 or Season 2? What episode number was it intended to be? Also, what was the plot of this episode?

The big question is, why didn't this episode air?

I'm not sure which interview, as he did a few. But, it's my guess he was referring to the presentation (the initial pilot, but not called that,) that was included in the 1st season set. It wasn't part of the series. It was pre-series.

In total, there are 3 pilots and 70 episodes. The first pilot, and episodes 1-38 are on the DVD. The second and third pilots are on the family of fright DVD. No one has released the second season yet.
