Did anyone on here go to a private university for college (or is currently attending one)? If so, did you take out any private loans and how did you feel about that? If I go to New York for school, I'd have to pretty much take out loans for the entire four years, since the stupid FAFSA and government won't give me any money and my parents aren't paying for much....I just want to know what you think.

Right now, no. Soon I will be transferring out of state and I know I will have to take out loans. My parents apparantly make too much for financial aid.

So do mine! But they can't pay for more than $10,000 at a private university for me next year because I also have two younger sisters (and they're both getting braces within the next year) plus they have to make house payments on the house we bought (houses in this California area are ridiculously expensive). So that means the rest of the money, around $33,000 I will have to pay- with interest. :(

I'm sorry. LOL I find it funny that my parents make too much. I mean it makes it sound like I'm rich or something. I wish, that would be nice.

I hate college and I'm not even there yet. The money thing is stressing me out like no other. I've been applying for all these dumb scholarships that arent going to get me anywhere. I hate money. Anyway, what college in New York are you going to?

NYU (It wasn't my first choice but I've wanted to go there for a really long time and the only thing that sucks about this- is financing college!). Can I just not go anywhere and stay home?

if FAFSA won't give you any money it probably means your parents make a lot of money.. sooo tell them to cough some up!!

Mine did too, which was a ****ing crock of ****. **** the government.

Anyway, I went to an in-state public school and for my last 4 years I lived at home, so we just coughed up the $1500 tuition each semester. But I'm still paying for that first lousy year when I did need a damn loan. And it was all for room and board, which was only worth about $100 at most.
