the Jeffersons. I don't know why I never thought of this before. It may have had something to do with Mike Evans leaving the show in April of 1975. Now we know the Bunkers wouldn't have appeared on the Jeffersons in the first season because when the Jeffersons started it was already in midseason. So once the 2nd season started, Damon Evans took over the role of Lionel and I think it would have been odd for Edith and Archie to be in scenes with a Different Lionel. So this maybe the reason why George and Louise returned to AITF as guest stars instead of the other way around. And by time the 2nd lionel left, All in the Family was Archie Bunkers Place. So this is just a thought. I'm pretty sure if Mike Evans had stayed, that a crossover would have most likely happened

I agree with you here. Mike Evans had a connection with the Bunker family.... Damon Evans just stole his last name.
