View Full Version : What is y Our Least Favorite "green Acres" Episode?
NAN ELIZABETH 07-10-2001, 11:22 AM Although "GREEN ACRES" is my all-time favorite show, there were some episodes that I liked and some that I didn't like.
My three least favorite episodes of the show are the following.
1. The episodes in which Eb was supposed to go over to his girlfriend Lorelei's house, but then a thunderstorm came up, the bridge was washed out, and Eb was reported missing. A stray dog shows up at the farm during the storm, and Lisa thinks its Eb. Eb never got to his girlfriend's house, but instead stayed at Ben Miller's house until the storm passed. I call this episode the "Alfred Hitchcock" episode.
2. The episode in which both Oliver and Lisa run for mayor of Hooterville. There was so much fierce competition that they both had a fight, in which Oliver walks out on Lisa, but they both later decide to drop out of the race.
3. The episode in which Lisa declares war on the dear hunters of Hooterville. She takes around a petition to be signed but when the Governor shows up in Hooterville, she presents the petition to him, but then he declares that the deer-hunting season to be open. She later flies up in an airplane yelling with a bullhorn to tell the deer to keep running for their lives.

Richard 07-25-2001, 04:51 PM Personaly,I didn't like the episode where Eb dated Betty Jo.It was alright, but not that funny-and Linda Kaye Henning seemed out of place.(She was really good in Petticoat Junction.)

Mignon 08-06-2001, 09:06 AM I'd have to say the last two eps. Oliver and Lisa were hardly in them.
NAN ELIZABETH 06-17-2002, 06:01 PM The last two episodes of "GREEN ACRES' were really pilots for television series which never really got off the ground.

I really liked the episode about deer hunting, because I am 100% opposed to hunting, and I like that Lisa cared about the deer - "run for your lives, they going to shoost you!"
Sara_M 09-04-2003, 11:18 AM The hunting episode was definitely one of my favorites - the entire time I watched that episode I was thinking "Go Lisa!!! Save the deer!"
That's one reason I don't entirely like Oliver's character - he supported hunting.
There were some episodes that were funnier than others, but for the most part, I don't really have an episode that I just don't like.
Cheerio!

Movieguy 04-12-2004, 12:00 AM Some of the ones with flashbacks are kinda grating to me. I also don't like the Molly Turgiss episode much.
Dixie Darlin' 06-19-2004, 05:17 PM Okay, this may be my favorite show, but there are a few ep's that annoy me. Number one, the one where Lisa tries to get rid of deer hunting. I grew up around hunting, half of my family hunts, so I am for it. I mean, we DO have to eat down here. Deer meat is like a delicacy here in my town.
I'm not crazy about the ones with flashbacks referring to when Oliver and Lisa met, or the ones where Lisa tells some Hungarian gypsy story. Annoying. Sorry Arnold lovers, I never liked the one where he became a movie star or a billionaire. Too off the wall for me. Hey, I always liked Drobny the duck, he was too cute! Especially when he got that girlfriend named Gertrude.
I don't know why people don't like the ones with that little girl in it from the city. I always thought she was cute, especially when her and Eb acted all brother-sister together. I wish Oliver and Lisa had become parents or something.

I have to agree- seeing Lisa trying to raise a kid would have been hysterical

gilligan fanatic 07-12-2004, 10:29 AM they find a diary and lisa reads it and they do a dream sequence and then takes place on a train and Lisa is the girl from the diary i don't rember more than that but it got really boring that might be the only episode that bothers me
Hawaiian Honeymoon...what a horrible show. A failed pilot and I can see why.
GrandGame1440 10-16-2004, 03:35 AM Just out of curiosity, what exactly happened on the "Hawaiian Honeymoon" episode? I hear that I'm not missing much, but all the episode guides for this episode are very vage.
After Lisa and Oliver stand in for Ebb at his department store window wedding, they go off to Hawaii for a "honeymoon". Mostly the show is around the guy who runs the hotel they are going to and I believe his young English niece. The niece gives the honeymoon suite as a favor to a couple of her friends since they couldn't afford it. Then Lisa and Oliver show and it's hijinks aplenty...well not really...bad ..bad...bad. There was no chemistry at all between the characters.
Lodee 10-17-2004, 07:49 AM Well, duh! NAN ELIZABETH said they were pilots for other shows.
Rezny@gmail.com 05-31-2010, 08:41 PM And I DID NOT care for at all the episode "The Cow Killer".As Lisa said, about the story to Oliver, who was at his angriest in this episode:"I've heard it,and it's a story you wouldn't want to hear."And I didn't care for the episode "Never Trust a Little old Lady",either.Nor did I like "A Husband For Eleanor".
Miss Lisa 06-02-2010, 05:10 PM I always found the ones where they told stories to be annoying. Not the stories of how they met, but the ones where they played different people.
1. The one where Oliver tells Lisa the story about the farm couple who had like twenty kids and how the wife learned to be a farm wife.
2. The one where they find the Wish Book and go back and tell the story of the people that owned the house a long time before they did.
3. The one where they go back on how Hooterville was founded.
4. When they had found the journal in the trunk and then later out found out that it was a play.
Those are the only ones that I can think of at the moment. Also, the episodes that revolved around Arnold going to Hollywood bugged me.
Rezny@gmail.com 06-02-2010, 05:34 PM I agree with you on number 2,Miss Lisa.THAT episode where they found that wish book was pretty bad..And it veered so far out in left field in that it had nothing to do with the ORIGINAL format of "Green Acres".No wonder Oliver wanted to go back to the chores on the farm in that episode. As for the other ones you listed, one was okay, and three and four ,in my opinion, weren't too bad.
