You never forget them. I found the months just after the toughest for missing them. Slowly you start thinking of them, but its nice memories and it doesn't hurt quite as much, but I've never stopped thinking of them. It's never easy. Penny Lane 04-16-2005, 09:08 AM My Dad died almost 3 weeks ago. I still can't get used to the idea! :( G-Force Glockstar 04-16-2005, 10:40 AM Sorry about all your losses :( Someday my parents and grandparents will die, and I just can't imagine how I'll go on :( ABlairican Pie 04-16-2005, 11:54 AM I still feel the same way when my mother died last fall. I try to make sense out of it, I know she had cancer, but WHY, GOD, WHY??? :( Penny Lane 04-16-2005, 01:38 PM My Dad (1922-2005)This pic is about 10 years old. At the end he really looked bad so I prefer to remember him as he was. :( Mijada 04-16-2005, 02:37 PM Sorry about everyones losses. I still have both my parents but am not close to them. I did lose my older sister to cancer in 1991 and still think of her a lot. She was just 28 and left behind a 6 yr old boy. Marlene, your dad looked like a very handsome and distinguished gentleman. :) Penny Lane 04-16-2005, 03:05 PM Sorry about everyones losses. I still have both my parents but am not close to them. It's very tough, hang in there and think of the good memories... it helps. :) Mr. Television 04-16-2005, 03:43 PM Its been 2 and a half years since my mom died and I still think of her everyday. Its been 14 years since my Grandma died and I still think of her quite a lot. I don't think you really get totally over it. :( phoebe7165 04-16-2005, 04:40 PM I'm sorry to everybody who lost a parent or both or who lost a family member. I still have both my parents but they're both getting up there in age and I often wonder how things are going to be when they go. I guess you're never ready to deal with it even if you've had a parent who's been sick a while. When I was 2, I had another sister, Michele, and she died when she was 2 months old of pneumonia. Of course, I don't remember her. Sometimes I wonder what she would be like if she were alive today. Max Whittaker 04-16-2005, 04:41 PM After someone close to you passes away, people who mean well say you'll get over it. But death is not something you're supposed to get over. Their lives were special to you and there is no reason for them to be any less so when they leave us. Their lives were special to you and there is no reason for them to be any less so when they leave us. So true Max! Please.... in any circumstance like death or illness Don't say "It could be worse" That is the worse thing that can be said. Totally making ones sorrow insignificant! All I can answer to that is.......... "try it!" That should stop one in his tracks! I know......... I have been there! :( Death and illness sucks! That all there is to it! :( *Pleasant Tomorrow* 04-16-2005, 07:43 PM Sorry to you all :( dawsongirl 04-17-2005, 02:13 AM It's been...hmm...10 months. A little under 11 I guess since one of my friends was killed. I went to see her gravesite Wednesday and she doesn't have a headstone. :( She was one of the very few people who bothered to acknowledge my existance after HS. I didn't see or talk to her much, but I miss her. Lee 04-17-2005, 02:18 AM My sadness is with you. |
