If you're interested, at 12:30 EDT, (tonight) SCTV is running their 25th Anniversary of Leave It To Beaver.
Its been a few years since I've seen it, but as I recall it was a riot. You've got 20 mins. to catch it on TVLand!!
Beaver: "Gee Wally, life sucks"
Wally" : "Yeah....well...so do you Beav"
I’m not totally up on LITB minutiae, but I still like it

Yeah, I haven't seen it for a long time but it was really funny--thanks for the link!
Other takeoffs on old shows which were pretty funny --
I think Roseanne did takeoffs on Patty Duke, Gilligan's Island, and maybe Father Knows Best
Wayans Brothers did a great one on Good Times
King of Queens took off on several things in one episode, such as The Young and the Restless, Brian's Song, but mainly The Honeymooners. (Looney Tunes did three pretty funny cartoons taking off on The Honeymooners, using mice and calling them The Honeymousers).

What I find incredible is that this parody was done to mark the 25th anniversary of (I assume) LITB's debut, so we're talking about a time span of 1957 to 1982. The equivalent span of time from our vantage point in 2026 would be 2001 - 2026. So if we were to do a similar parody today, it would have to be of Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier, Friends, etc. Needless to say, those shows don't feel "old" in the way LITB does. Such are the mysteries of "relative time."

And what show would be notable enough today to do a 2050 parody?
