dawsongirl 04-16-2005, 01:28 AM ABC: Eyes
:cuss: Oh sure...it doesn't pull in DH style ratings and you wanna cancel it. **** off, ABC.
Zebra 3 04-16-2005, 01:36 AM I only saw the pilot and man did that cop show sucked.
Mr. Television 04-16-2005, 01:39 AM I only saw the pilot and man did that cop show sucked.
I liked it but I stopped watching it after its rattings tanked. I don't like watching new shows that I know will be cancelled.
Dean Winchester 04-17-2005, 03:56 PM :cuss: Oh sure...it doesn't pull in DH style ratings and you wanna cancel it. **** off, ABC.
it didn't pull Lost or Grey's Anatomy or Boston Legal style ratings either. Right now ABC is so hot that if a show is in the 70's, it's a lot worse than it would've been last season.
Dean Winchester 04-17-2005, 03:59 PM Shoo-Ins
(Note: I only included shows that have not been officially renewed)
WB: Charmed, Everwood , Gilmore Girls , One Tree Hill , Reba , 7th Heaven, Smallville , What I Like About You
WB has already renewed One Tree Hill, Reba and 7th Heaven (even tho it's time for 7th to croak... we've been dealing with this preachy garbage for a decade)
Caffeine King 04-17-2005, 04:25 PM "Eyes" is done, but "Blind Justice" has a shot. Shame that they're not both locks for renewal. Just think of the crossover possibilities.
How does Blind Justice have a higher chance of getting renewed for renewal then Eyes?
They both do bad in the ratings but Eyes keep mostly all of it's Alias lead in viewers. I'd say Eyes has a better chance then.
robyrob 04-17-2005, 05:54 PM I liked it but I stopped watching it after its rattings tanked. I don't like watching new shows that I know will be cancelled.
there's almost no point in even watching new shows because MOST of them will get cancelled by the time you get hooked on them..

The only one I am not so sure I agree with you on is Rodney. That show does hold about 90% of the audience from According to Jim, and it is the second highest rated sitcom on ABC. Even though we all know it is because of the plum time slot after According to Jim. I also notice ABC has been promoting it lately.
dawsongirl 04-17-2005, 09:38 PM it didn't pull Lost or Grey's Anatomy or Boston Legal style ratings either. Right now ABC is so hot that if a show is in the 70's, it's a lot worse than it would've been last season.
That still isn't fair. ABC is acting like they are suddenly the greatest network in the world. Let's see your longevity, bastards!! One season doesn't cut it.
dawsongirl 04-17-2005, 09:40 PM there's almost no point in even watching new shows because MOST of them will get cancelled by the time you get hooked on them..
This is why I normally don't bother. Since I got into Eyes and now apparently it's gonna get canned, why the hell did I even bother this time?
Mr. Television 04-17-2005, 11:54 PM there's almost no point in even watching new shows because MOST of them will get cancelled by the time you get hooked on them..
Yea thats true, especially if they are in bad timeslots. I hardly ever bothrer with them. I will say that this year though there has been more new shows that have caught on which is good.
db108108 04-20-2005, 01:19 AM With Grey's Anatomy pretty much a lock for the post "DH" timeslot next season, Boston Legal will most likely go to 10pm on Tuesdays where "BJ" is averaging about 8 million viewers. "Wife Swap" will go back on Wednesdays at 10pm as "Eyes" is only drawing about 6.5mil. It's senseless for ABC to air dramas at 10pm opposite Law & Order and CSI NY- there's no audience.
Brent88 04-20-2005, 03:28 PM Hey, I liked Wife Swap.
A drama on Wednesdays at 10 WILL NOT work. ABC's only choice is reality or news.
barwars 04-20-2005, 05:14 PM The only thing that can help ABC Thursdays will be Thursday Night Football.... and then movies in the spring. At least with that they'll accomplish a decent third, rather than miserable third.
barwars 04-20-2005, 05:26 PM For ABC Thursdays, I would do....
8:00 Drama
9:00 Comedy
9:30 Comedy
10:00 Reality Show
Just offer what the other networks aren't.
ABC Wednesdays should have a reality show at 10 as well. Tuesdays, there's room for another drama, I think BL has a shot there.
db108108 04-21-2005, 11:25 AM The only thing that can help ABC Thursdays will be Thursday Night Football.... and then movies in the spring. At least with that they'll accomplish a decent third, rather than miserable third.
ITA- but ABC only has one more season left of Monday Night Football. That's really going to hurt them in the ratings.
ABC should go with comedies on Thursday (if it could develop a strong one to anchor the night) as even NBC has bascially abandoned comedies on the night.
Brent88 04-21-2005, 08:18 PM I might be the only person left still watching.
Close... if it comes in 5th again tonight, then yes.
*watches Survivor* ;)
barwars 04-21-2005, 09:37 PM I can't see any reason to move "Primetime Live." After all, it is what the other networks aren't offering. But it lives and dies by its lead-ins
Thats true. But the only hope ABC has (without football) is to air whatever NBC and CBS aren't.
db108108 04-21-2005, 10:32 PM And even NBC is flailing. "The Apprentice" has taking a major beating beat this spring. It was beating "CSI" this time last year in adults 18-49, now it's 40% behind. "Joey" and "Will & Grace" at 8pm are laughable. NBC is really in serious trouble on this night. It used to be the only reason they made money, and I honestly can't see them making anything off the night this season, and they'll lose even more next season because advertizing rates will reflect crappy ratings.
As somebody who loves "The Amazing Race," I'm loving the Donald's smackdown. It was he, who after losing the emmy last year, said how nobody watched "TAR." It's now beating his show in the ratings. Utterly perfect irony.
Brent88 04-21-2005, 10:49 PM
I love both shows... although I would have to give TAR a slight edge based on this season. The Apprentice was much better in Season 1...
Survivor is the best of them all though.

And Donald Trump is still acting like The Apprentice is a phenomenon. Someone should tell him that his ratings are falling and next season they will probably be even lower.
db108108 04-22-2005, 12:11 PM I've watched "The Apprentice" on occasion this season, mostly as a way to delay getting down to work on essays or correcting student stuff, but it's no TAR.
