View Full Version : Suzanne Somers gets on my nerves!
geremi 04-14-2005, 11:43 PM I noticed everytime she goes on a talk show to promote her new books and stuff, they always bring up "Three's Company" and said that the during her years on the show, it was #1 in the ratings and after she got fired it tanked, which means that she was the reason for "Three's Company" success, and Suzanne just smiles and laughs, and said "I know". This woman is not humble at all even after all these years, she took credit for the show success even though it belongs to all three of them, and the show failure because the producers were stupid enough to fire her. She does not take into consideration the facts that the reason when she was on the show and the ratings was #1 was because the audience never saw a show with so much sexual inuendos before and how funny it was, and the reason the ratings slipped in later years was because there was more competitions on primetime and the show ran out of storylines, not because it was her. Besides, I don't think that she is that great of an actress, she said season 4 was her favorite because playing Chrissy dumb was fun, I think season 3 was her best as Chrissy.
TripperFan 04-15-2005, 12:49 AM The other phoney thing that really gets to me about her is that stupid story about having to have liposuction after a lumpectomy. Well she's the only woman in the world that's ever required that I'll tell ya! What a lame cover story.
Plus I saw her earlier today promoting some new stupid thing she's peddling and was asked about cosmetic surgery. She says she'd only consider that when the time "really" came, but that she does believe in Botox and treatments - NO SH#T SHERLOCK!!! Then she goes on to say that too many people in Hollywood had that plastic look. Meanwhile, she looks like something from Madame Tussaud's!!! She's had so much Botox that when she smiles, the corners of her mouth barely turn up - and NOTHING else moves on her face!
I honestly would rather a railspike driven through my forehead over watching ANYTHING with her on it.
***end 'o rant***
Auntie 04-15-2005, 11:49 AM I myself, am getting a little sick and tired of hearing her ramble on and on about the show. She's the one who started it all because she was a greedy witch! She actually thought that she was the star of the show? Please, who's name was the first to see in the beginning opening credits?! It wasn't Susanne Summers, that's for sure. WE ALL KNOW WHO'S NAME IT WAS! And she actually tried to sue Joyce and John for thinking they had something to do with the situation that was going on between her and the producers? No, she wanted her own way and that was it. She played hardball and she lost. JOHN WAS THE SHOW,NOT HER!
Terri Cardellini 04-15-2005, 03:06 PM i HATE SS!!! :angryfire always did, it's just that :censored::explode: I don't even wanna think about it
Auntie 04-15-2005, 03:43 PM Do you know that I had a copy of 'The Waltons' right in my hands today, they had the first season in 'Target. And I wasn't sure that John was in the first season or not, turns out he was. Oh, I can kick myself in the ***! :wallbang Why oh why didn't I get it! I'm so  : at myself I could SCREAM!!!!!!

AWWW~! I love your avatar!! JJ are so adorable;)!! Jack's face is so cute!
brasspounder 04-15-2005, 08:18 PM I don't consider the seasons after SS left a failure! I was getting very tired of the increasingly stupid Chrissy character. Terri was a breath of fresh air, and I find her much more attractive than Chrissy!
TripperFan 04-15-2005, 08:27 PM You can say that again!
I mean, how tough is it to play a super ditzy dumb blonde - and as you say, it was increasingly stupid - nobody is like that! Just wasn't believable enough and downright irritating!
Actually of all the women, I always thought Joyce was the prettiest. I guess it was combined with her overall personality and intelligence. I bonded with her from the beginning too.

I agree with you about Joyce(actually, Priscilla too). Joyce just wins it for me when it comes to beauty and brains. I thought they were both naturally beautiful and did have nice personalities to boot.
However, I still think my favorite blonde is Chrissy. I've gotten the most laughs from her and I really enjoyed her character. But, the show didn't go downhill after she left by any means...Terri(yes, and Cindy too) brought something new and exciting to the show and I really think it needed that boost.
But, yea, I'm talking about "Chrissy" not Suzanne. I don't really know ALL that much about her so I won't say anything more...but I really loved her character :D

Yeah, you don't really want to, I think it's what really made me not like Chrissy in reruns as much either :( I shouldn't bring my feelings into it because its just a character, but I always do.

Aww, it's understandable..I mean, it's hard not to sometimes. We often think of the character and the actor as one...it's hard to seperate personalities sometimes. Like, I ALWAYS think of John Ritter as Jack Tripper, no matter how many other characters he's played. It's wrong, I know...but it's hard not to. Plus, his personality is just as loveable as Jack's :D
Gus52086 04-15-2005, 09:11 PM I like Suzanne. Chrissy Snow is my fave. blonde on T.V. I do believe that she was not the cause of success in the show. It was the entire cast combined.

I agree :D It was definately the magic and chemistry of the whole cast.

I'm with ya on that one!! ;)
Chain Gang Member 04-16-2005, 11:40 AM I didn't like how Suzanne acted when she got so much publicity and got a big ego.I bet she was suprised knowing that Three's Company went along great without her.She probably thought "My character Chrissy is the most popular character on the show. The fans will stop watching it if they cut her out of the show".Then after TC ended, she probably said "I can't believe I was wrong. They went 5 more years without me".At least she and John got to be friends again before he died

If you want to see John in a really versitle character, rent 'Man Of The Year'. Boy.... that movie is really a different role for him. I just bought the movie a week ago, and I thought it was really good!.

OMG I ALWAYS do that lol before I went to meet Priscilla in NY I kept picturing Terri not Priscilla, but she was NOTHING like Terri. I had to keep telling myself that I’m not meeting a TV character, I'm meeting an actual person with their own personality, not one that's written for them.
Number 9 Dream 04-16-2005, 12:30 PM Hahhaa, awww!! I know I'd do the same thing if I ever met her or Joyce too.

i hate her too!!!!! :angryfire :livid:
algebra74 04-20-2005, 10:59 PM Suzanne Somers is an absolutely brilliantly talented actress. Although I, by no means, approve of her methods of attempting to obtian her demands, I support her demands in their entirety. She was getting paid far too little in comparison with other stars of less-successful sitcoms.
