Ward was supposedly best friends with Fred so why wasn't June best friends with Gwen? I still don't understand why the writers didn't give June a best friend. Every woman needs another woman to confide in especially when she is around nothing but men in the house. Don't get me wrong, Ward was always there for her but she still could have used a friend. JMO and something new to discuss. ;)

Yeah really, that's a good point. It's a wonder she didn't go squirrelly!! No friends and she rarely got out of that house!! Poor June!! She sure took a backseat to the men didn't she.

Yeah she did sort of take a back seat to the men but I guess that is the way it was back then. But, every now and then I think, my goodness she didn't go shopping with a friend or talk on the phone or anything. How lonely is that? I would go insane as much as I love my husband a woman needs to have her friends just as much as man needs his buddies. Another thought, in the later years she had to have been going through menopause, so what man is going to get that? But out of all the men out there I say Ward would have been the most loving and supportive, at least from that era where " a woman's place is in the home" kind of world. I must add too that Ward did a great job of taking her out every now and then even if it was just the drugstore. He was so sweet about the little things.

Actually, I wrote a fanfic about that several months ago, it's called "The Cleavers meet The Ricardo's" if you wanna go check it out. ;) If you do, let me know what you think! :D

I totally understand what she's going through. I actually feel like her a lot of times, except I don't do my house work in dresses, pearls, and dress shoes. lol! ;) I am an old-fashioned girl and ever since I was a little girl,I knew I was going to marry and have kids and that was my ultimate goal. Well,I am now married and am a stay-at-home-wife. My husband works Monday through Friday and I don't get out of the house those days unless I go running around with my Mom or my friend,Crystal. But,I am more blessed,b/c I do get out with my husband on Saturdays. (That's our "date day".) And,on Sundays,he takes me to church and drops me off and I spend Sunday afternoon with my parents. Also,I don't get to see my friends that much, however,I do get to hang out with Crystal every once in a while and hopefully,I will get to hang out with her more often now since she just graduated college and is back in town. :yippee:

Better go get ready for church now. I am glad to be here. Incase any of you haven't yet noticed,I am new here. :) May God give you a great day!
