David Southern was a black English teacher involved in a cult where many persons mysteriously died leaving their assets to the cult leader, a female named "Terri".

David lived in Illinois and supposedly was planning a trip to India. His parents went to his home to find that he had never left on his trip and he left a coat and hat folded neatly on an African ceremonial stool - a meaning of death in Africa.

I cannot find any information on a missing David Southern - was he ultimately found or is he still missing?

I believe his name was Charles Southern Jr. according to the UM segment. I would be curious to know whether he was ever found as well. Please share any info you may come across. :)

Also the cult leader's name was Terri Hoffman. Maybe there's some info on the net about her.

Actually I found a few articles on Terri Hoffman. Its strange that when they list the members who died suspiciously, they don't even mention Charles Southern Jr.'s name as being missing.

Another interesting note is that Don Hoffman's children (he's the one who made the video at the beginning of the segment then soon after committed suicide) are suing Terri saying she falsely convinced him he had cancer.

They just showed this segment a few minutes ago.

Good grief, but that Terry Hoffman woman is terrifying! The photo they show of her looks like pure evil. Her eyes don't look normal. That picture gives me the creeps.

The photo is here: http://www.unsolved.com/ajaxfiles/mis_charles_southern.htm

It seems very odd that person like Ms. Hoffman has had so many tragedies occur around and nobody seems to have been able to link her to them. You have to wonder what she would offer her "followers" that seems to overcome their natural suspicion and common sense.

A brief search online shows some older news stories and comment in skeptics forums, but nothing substantial. Apparently either Ms. Hoffman has left this mortal coil or she has developed an ability to keep her hijinks out of the public eye.
