FYI everyone, I hate to see the season end :( , but they'll be back next year!

Wednesday, May 18 (9:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT)
THE KING OF QUEENS -- When the Heffernan's neighbor passes away, Carrie (Leah Remini) convinces Doug (Kevin James) it would be a smart investment to buy the house and flip it for a profit. When their other neighbor Lou Ferrigno has the same idea, Doug and Carrie have to make some hasty real estate decisions that inevitably comes back to haunt them (Season Finale).

Whew! You had me worried for a minute there! I thought they were going to bump Lou off!!! I like him - wish they would add him into more of the eps.!

Wow...next fall will be the 8th season. That sounds so weird. The time has gone by so quickly. I still remember clearly the day it first premiered. Back then I never really pictured it someday having an 8th season.

Have they announced a new season? I don't think so.
The ratings are not so bad but is not sure that they will be back for another season.

Correct me if I'm wrong!

They've GOT to bring it back! As you say, the ratings aren't bad, and they haven't exhausted story lines yet at all. With so few good sitcoms out there right now, they HAVE to bring it back!

Exactly. While there's been no official word, this doesn't even seem like anything to question.

yeah I remember hearing somewhere, that they had no intentions of ending the show anytime soon....

I hope that KOQ is on for at least another 2 to 3 season, heck I never want to see it end, it is one of the best sitcoms out there. This season finale should be good.

Oh yeah - they still could have them finally have a kid (actually I thought they might have done that taking advantage of Reah's pregnancy). I think it could be good for the last season or two (so it shows maybe that they do plan on keeping it on for a while). Imagine Doug as a father? He's a big kid still himself!! Reminds me of the ep where they she thinks she's pregnant and envisons a mini-douggie!!

I read the contracts expired at the end of season 7. So all of them must sign a new deal after that season.
Kevin James did a good job in HITCH. Maybe he is focusing on his movie carrer. Maybe Leah Remini wants to take a time-out to enjoy a life as a mother.

I'll pray for another season too, but you never know what's going to happen.

I don't know...it seems as if a show of 7 years is going to end, they would advertise a series finale for it. It doesn't seem likely to end this year, but yeah, I guess you never know until something official is announced.

Although he could change his mind, on the season 1 DVD, Kevin said in an interview that he will keep doing the show until we (the audience) get tired of it.

With "Everybody Loves Raymond" leaving this season, they'd probably want KOQ back.

However, if they're contracts end, I wonder if everyone will sign on for another season. I mean I bet Kevin and Leah will but I wonder about Jerry Stiller. Hopefully so, I'm just sayin'.

I know what you mean, I think part of it is that *they* don't act like a show that will have been on for 8 seasons. How have these characters changed, developed, what's happened to them during these 8 years, etc...I can't really say. It's a good thing and a bad thing in that I really don't think this is a show that takes itself seriously.

And sometimes I wish it would.

I agree. Just because Kevin's done one movie that did alright, doesn't mean he's going to bail right away (it would be a stupid move actually). Lots of stars did/do movies while having a hit show. Look at Michael J. Fox - Back To The Future while Family Ties was still running, Will Smith started his movie career while still doing Fresh Prince, a few members of the Friends cast did more than one or two movies while the show was still on. No reason they can't coordinate the movie work during the show's haitus.

For sure KoQ would have a wrap-up finale and not just go off the air. It'll be back next year - not to worry! ;)

Okay, I give up!
You say that they definitely come back next fall, I say nothing is sure right now. There is no way to find common ground.

A bubble show is a show on the verge of cancellation, which I don't think KoQ is.

I wouldn't be surprised if they move it to ELR's slot next season. But this show has been moved so much, it's like...how much worse can it be? I think that slot would help the show.

I don't think James will quit for a film career. I bet he'll have it written into his contract that he can take time off for a movie and we get left with those crappy hatchet jobs episode we've gotten lately.
