Does anyone know exactly why Pete decided that the logical name for John Jr. III should be trip? That has always confused me and I thought maybe I missed something that episdoe. :confused:

The third = triple = trip.

Trip is apparently a common nickname for anyone who happens to be such and such, the third. A character on Star Trek: Enterprise is named Trip as well, and he is third generation as well.
