E! True Hollywood Story: John Ritter
Sunday, April 24, 2005 on E! Entertainment Television
PREMIERE
8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET/PT
Encores: 11:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. ET/PT

John Ritter's life story is related in interviews with family and friends and a plethora of film footage. The bio touches his early acting career, including his first TV appearance on "The Dating Game," recalls his success on "Three's Company" and relives his return to TV on "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter." The profile features archival interviews with Ritter, as well as insights from his wife, Amy Yasbeck; Katey Sagal; Henry Winkler; Joyce DeWitt; and Suzanne Somers.

A revealing look at one of the most likable comedians in television: from his boyhood as the son of a cowboy legend to his superstar turn in Three's Company, to the re-birth of his career on Eight Simple Rules to his untimely passing and the pending wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family he left behind.
Interviews include: (1) Henry Winkler, friend; (2) Professor John Blankenchip, USC Theater Professor; (3) Jack Larson, wrote a play that John performed in college, remained friends throughout John's life; (4) Paul Linke, John's roommate at USC, also an actor; (5) Richard Lewis, "Anything but Love"; (6) Daniel Coleridge, TV Guide online; (7) Richard Kline, "Larry Dallas" on "Three's Company"; (8) Peter Bogdanovich, old friend, directed John in 3 movies, was scheduled to guest on "8 Simple Rules" the week John died; (9) Katey Sagal, co-star "8 Simple Rules"; (10) Joe Landon, high school friend and best man at John and Amy's wedding; (11) Amy Yasbeck, wife; (12) Bob Myman, John's business partner, attorney, friend; (13) Suzanne Somers, Tampa; (14) Joyce DeWitt, "Three's Company"; and (15) the three kids from "8 Simple Rules."

I had tears in my eyes as well, through virtually the whole thing. I still can't believe he is gone... He was just so damn cool. :( Very good episode though. I loved all the interviews and the behind the scenes footage.

I agree with you 100%. I started sobbing at the end when they started talking about the day he died. I can't admit that he really is gone, but he isn't - because his spirit is still with us. But I just hate it that I will never be able to see him again.. :(

Hey girlies(and guys! :D)

Just popping in on this board....I have a good feeling we'll all see John when we get to heaven. I won't get in to spirituality here but my beliefs are that heaven is what you want it to be...and I want to be wherever John is and laughing all day and all night! :)

Oh I'm sure that he's falling off some hammock up there somewhere. Chatting with the Pope maybe or his parents, or anyone for that matter up there. One thing I know for sure, he is happy. He's probably saying to everyone down here every time that when someone gets sad about him he probably says, 'I'm o.k. 'I'm fine'. Or probably makes some joke out of it. (not to be mean,of course, to be funny) that was his personality. Always making people laugh. :lol:Always be remembered for that sweetheart they found in the :bath :jack
